I’ve been experimenting with pocket carry. Most shorts/jeans pockets are not really suitable and access, especially in car, even with deeper pockets is problematical at best.
Thinking about belly band holster. Any one have experience with them? Or have suggestions re: alternatives?

There are some pretty good ones and there are some cheap junk belly bands. I once seen a comparison on different ones. ( A long time ago)
Much better then a belly band though is a good quality "LEATHER" outside the waistband holster that is form fitted to your carry gun. Also a very good "GUN BELT"
Wear it at 3:eek:,clock and cover with a loose fitting T -Shirt or a nice long "ANY" shirt.
At 3:eek:,clock it is very easy to get to your gun while sitting in the car or the booth at your favorite restaurant without a bunch of squirming around.
Personally, I have a Glock43, A Sig 365 but my favorite gun to carry is my Kimber Micro due to how small and light it is.

PS:

If you decide on a belly band maybe you can tell us if you like it, What brand and what you are carrying in it.

I use a STRAPT-TAC Belly Band Holster and carry (G19) just short of 3:00. The band uses a hook and loop to provide excellent retention, much better than Velcro alone. You do have to provide the holster - the Urban Carry Lock-Leather is recommended. I work from home and my everyday attire is basketball shorts and a sleeveless t-shirt, so it's rare that I wear a belt and this set-up works well for me. I have a bit of a stomach but there's little printing. I will admit that after 4-plus hours it can start getting a little uncomfortable - I like to wear it tight so there's no movement.

Thanks for the responses. I looked at some older threads on here about this issue as well. Looks like belly band is a love it or hate it for most people.
I saw Strapt-Tac web site, looks very interesting.
I think I’m going to give belly band a try.I’ll post something about my experience once I’ve given it a try.

Like most people who eventually wind up carrying every day, we have a box full of holsters that sounded good, but just didn’t work out.

The belly band was one of them.

Yes, it works, kind of, but still has drawbacks, namely it is darn uncomfortable for all day and night carry. Might be good for a short stint where you can’t use a normal holster, but for the most part it probably won’t work for everyday carry.

I still find OWB with some type of cover garment works best for me 99.9% of the time. Open carry is even easier.

its amazing what you can conceal a sidearm with if you plan ahead a little.
