For Pete's sake! If the idiot doesn't want a seat belt because he thinks hes Superman, let him play the role..
When the plane lands have the police ready to arrest him and go about your day...
Except in the case of severe turbulence, he becomes "cockpit FOD." (@BeerHunter can probably give the proper definition.) But, basically... he becomes a rather heavy projectile that can do significant harm to other passengers.

So by not being strapped in, he's actually not just a danger to himself. He's a danger to those around him. As in potentially lethal.

Yep. Put him to sleep if need be and then seatbelt him in and zip tie or duct tape him to the seat till plane lands.

If he awakes and becomes belligerent, hit him in the head with a heavy object and tell him to “shhhhhhhhh…the ‘no taking sign’ is now on for you.” If he says another word, hit him again with said heavy object and remind him of the no talking sign on. 🤣🤣🤣

ETA: oh and just one more thing…wash, rinse, and repeat as often as necessary. 😎

last thing on my mind is multiple people trying to control him...that becomes a flailing mess in a tight space...he's already made the threat and his demeanor, standing to make it, makes it an assault...i wrap my belt around his neck...cinch it tight and take him to the floor...while he struggles to maintain consciousness i have a long talk with his ear and explain he can choose to lose a battle fighting for oxygen to his brain or comply with what is coming...f#ck him...i am tired of the entitled bullsh!t going on in this country and have nothing to lose because this is a forum what if...

i have used this tactic twice with fighters in bars...my best friend up north owned a dive and we had our share of righteous aholes...they see the light relatively quickly and when they realize compliance doesnt mean freedom until they exhibit boy scout like tendencies it ends rather well...we only had to deal with one gunshot to the mirror behind the bar...

Post 17, "Put him to sleep with a choke would be an option"

I like the way you think ;)

Well, in my own world of "fantasy airline ownership," I'd probably run that scenario a bit differently. I'd run it like it were a railroad. The "conductor" is the boss of the train. The engineer is only the "driver" and is separated physically from the other cars. Hard for a hijacker/terrorist to get to them unless they can get to the engine, somehow.

Therefore, for larger wide body aircraft (i.e. 777-ish), I'd build it with solid titanium wall between the main cabin and cockpit that could not be penetrated. There would be no access between the cockpit and main cabin, but there would be a bathroom and maybe a small galley on the cockpit side. I would then staff the main cabin with a "conductor" like person who becomes the boss of the aircraft. The pilot is only the "driver." The aircraft "conductor" would handle all disciplinary/safety matters and be trained for that... most likely armed as well like air marshalls are today. The only reason to contact the pilot for something would be a medical or safety emergency requiring a diversion to a different airport. The pilot to need to get on with the FAA to get the diversion approved.

So, to answer the question, the aircraft "conductor" would handle the above situation. I would not expect or want the passengers to get involved unless absolutely necessary (i.e. "Let's roll.").

I realize you're just fantisizing, but airliners are not trains and neither the regulatory authorities nor the pilots and cabin crew would ever participate in treating them like trains with a "Conductor" as the one ultimately responsible for the safety of the flight and passengers. . . NEVER. GOING. TO. HAPPEN. PERIOD! 🤠

There's a copy of your avatar at the top right, which will have a red indicator/dot drawing your attention to the fact that you have "alerts" on your account, usually for responses to or quotes of your posts, but also that you have a PM (conversation) waiting to be viewed. You should also get an email to the address associated with your account that someone replied to your conversation or started a new one with you.

Take off your belt or find a better thinner belt to use. This will only work if you get the seat behind the guy. If he does stand up to give the flight attendant grief,
You just throw the belt around his neck and pull - pull - pull as hard as you can.
Then pray the flight attendant does have pepper spray or something to subdue him enough to get him under some sort of control enough to restrain him.
Ronnie

And always remember that if you have a buckle with the long rod that sticks in the hole's. You can use it as a great weapon by putting the buckle in your hand with the rod between your fingers as a tool to stab him in his face or better yet, if you can do it, his EYE.

I can't run and I can't fight and if I don't have my gun to shoot the idiot with,
I WILL FIND SOMETHING

First, I’d order another rum & coke stat! Then position myself to the empty seat behind him, in hopes of slapping a rear naked choke on the moron. When “‘sleepy time “ takes over, instruct the lady two rows over, that occupies 3 seats, to come & give him a good beard ride till we get there!! These entitled azzholes need the livin schitt beat outta them as F’er as I’m concerned, F’ em!

You do have a point,
"NO" pepper spray, so maybe one of those plastic trash bags tied tight with his head in it?
A ballpoint pen in the ear or eye.
Ronnie

PS:
How about the flight attendant just let him alone and walk away if he does not want to use a seat belt.

Or even a person wanting to be on their cell phone when asked not to?

NOTE:
Neither of the above is as bad as a screaming brat kid running up and down the isle.

Cell phone use has potential for interfering with navigation and communication equipment...that's why there's an airplane mode now...it shuts down those capabilities...

The guy without the seat belt will be the first to sue when a bump or turbulence causes him to bump his head...

Just as simple a solution would be if you don't want to comply with posted rules and policies find another mode of transportation...

You are 100% correct but the plane is already in flight and not possible to just kick the turd out. This turd is no better then a school shooter or mass murderer and really needs to be dealt with.
What ever happened to the Air Marshall service that we used to have?
Flight attendants are kind of useless because I'm sure they are not allowed to hurt a turd.

There's not an air marshal on every domestic flight, unlike what most people think.
