I'll be carrying one of these in my back pocket when I travel back east for 8 days.

Developed by Kelly Worden [ a nationally known self defense instructor ] it's one of several items I can have with me on the plane, on my person at all times when not carrying a firearm or back up knife [ BUK ] along with a small yawara stick in the other back pocket.

The Saf-T-Wrench can be used to punch creating a small force multiplier, the hand can be opened yet securely hold onto the tool and can be used as a yawara stick as well.

I get them from a fellow Riddler and good friend of mine who makes custom Kydex knife sheaths named Mike Sastre here:

Tell Mike you came his way via Brownie on this. I talked to him this morning about another sheath I'm having made for the latest Bill Bagwell Fighting Bowie I have on order.

I've sent them to my mother, sister and a few friends back east, they all like them and carry them. Really lightweight, you don't know it's there till you need it.

Once you get it into your hand, you'll quickly discover how to use it with great effect. I particularly like this tool as you can still open your hand and not drop it.

TSA?

No idea, I've never been caught with it as when it is in your pocket it's not setting off the metal detectors. :rolf

If I'm asked what it is, it's an acupressure tool to stimulate blood flow for my legs while seated on long flights. It also has numbered size hex shaped cutouts that can be used as a wrench.

They allow computer tool kits on planes for laptops that include screwdrivers and I don't think anyone's going to say anything about the tool they don't know I have on me.

I make sure I don't have anything that sets off the detector BEFORE I go through it and if you get by that machine the first time, they wave you right on through to your bags.

No one knows it's there, and no one needs to know it's there. I work on a need to know basis with the TSA folks. I was once asked about the Canemasters cane I was carrying with the sharks teeth cut outs by TSA in Phoenix. He wanted to know if they were notches for people I'd killed [ in a smart arse tone ]. I looked at him and told him I'm just a little old man and they came on the cane as decorations. It passed straight through with no problem.

Have some forethought before you are asked so you aren't fumbling for a reply then. It's a medical aid designed to stimulate blood flow. No more or less.

Reminds me of a gag you can play on someone you really don't like:

Tell the person that you, in fact, know how to draw blood from a stone. Keep stating it until they demand you prove it.

Hit them in the head with a stone hard enough to draw blood.

I didn't say it was a nice gag, did I?

Wor-tac safety wrench

The weapon shown appears to be a take off on an Okinawan weapon called a Geefwah. I don't know how it is spelled but that's how it is pronounced. This was a weapon used by Okinawan and Japanese women for close in self defense. It was worn in the hair
