Wife not so lucky

My wife sent her application in early January, right after the Christmas break. She started calling for status In April and weas told her application was in the system.

Today she's told, her prints were too hard to read and she should get a letter. Wow, what a shocker. We never saw that coming....not.

Anyone know how long it actually takes to get the letter? And, can she be proactive and have her prints done again before it gets here? Is there a control number or such that she needs in order to marry the new prints with the application?

Argh:cool:

Jbuck,

You do know this is all your fault, right? If you had not worked your poor wife's fingers to the bone none of this would have happened and she would have her license by now. :D

As far as the letter you may have to wait until you receive it then take it and the new card they will include with the letter to a place that does prints. I'm assuming you did paper. They will have the correct code letters for concealed carry already on the print card.

Once she gets to the print place and has them redone she needs to ask them to include a letter stating that it is the second time she has had to have prints done and would they please indicate in the letter that it is the best job they could do.

Then include the new print card and the original letter from the finger print place and send it all back. I believe it took another 4 to 5 weeks after that for me to get my actual license in the mail.

This does indeed feel like labor pains, but I promise once the card is in hand you will forget all the pain and agony of waiting as you hold your new, little bundle of plastic in your hands.

Best wishes for a speedy delivery.

MamaBear,

How true this is. You obviously speak from personal experience.

Thanks for the info. We'll wait for the letter.

Jim,

I'm thinking I also had to include the original letter from Tallahassee as well. You will have that, the new print card and the letter from the place stating it is as good as it gets.

Now you go pamper your wife and give her fingers time to heal up from all of her work so she can give a good set of prints this time. :nangel
Bqqueen (my wife) just got the email saying her prints were bad and need to be redone and they were electronic.....
now we got to wait for the letter....
thanks for the idea of a letter from the print tech say this is as good as it gets...
My wife had to have her's redone as well. We got the letter and went to the Miami-Dade PD to have them done. While doing them the female officer told us that it is not uncommon for women to have to be redone ---apparently housework, dishes, etc, plays H*ll with the prints, she said she has the same problem as well as men in certain professions like tile work, concrete, anywhere there is a lot of abrasive material around wears down the prints. The officer also said that no special explanation was required, if they still didn't pass the license would still be issued after the second set of prints regardless of the result.

Sorry I missed your earlier posts and timeline. It was quite helpful.

How long should I expect it to take before we get the letter?

I noticed one posting mentioned getting an email about the print card. Do you get an email too?

Jim
I had my electronic prints redone on May 25th. Got an email today stating that my permit was issued today
and I should receive it within 10 - 14 business days.

Thanks for the update bqqueen. Lisa sent her second set in with a letter from the SO explaining it was the best they could do. I think she sent the rints back the first few days in June. Hopefully she'll get the same good news you did.
