AND…..whats in it? Curious if I am missing something important, beyond tourniquet, Israeli bandage and vented chest wound dressings?

I carry one in each of the vehicles and a basic first aid kit on the motors.

I think an emt with little to no equipment is better prepared to deal with a trauma in public than someone who has the best trauma kit money can buy and doesn't know how to use most of the equipment within.

I have stuff to shut off a bleeder and seal a sucking chest wound..all I learned in the Corps. Anything over that, you're prolly gonna see Jesus.Well, I hope so anyway

Mine also has some brand of "Quick-Clot" in it, too. However, I think I need a refresher on tourniquet protocols since it's been a few years since my last certification.

Trauma kit and a tourniquet. Can handle a bleeder, a sucking chest wound, and a plain old chest wound that sucks.

I keep a few of the quick clot bandages in both my range bags and a bunch of tampons too. No, not for me, for a bullet wound. They’re designed to go into holes that bleed so makes sense to me. 😬

My Trauma Kit contains lots of bad memories going back to the 70's. :)

Look into Celox clotting agents, supposed to be tested by the Israeli's and better than quick clot

I've been certified; would have to check the expiration date. Full cert within the last 3 or 4 years - part of the job.

But I don't regularly carry a trauma kit to the range.
The way I figure it, that's the risk the bad guy takes.

Although I know the topic is more complicated than that.
quick clot, tourniquet, chest seal, ABDs, and Vaseline gauze. In the same kit but in a separate zip lock (minor wound kit) I carry some 4x4s and cling, triple antibiotic, and hydrocortisone packets, as well as some of that tape that sticks to itself by not to you. Then some quality cloth Band-Aids. Finally, I carry some sterile piercing needles for splinters and blood blisters. They don't take up any room and come in handy for so many things. The minor wound stuff has been so much more useful over the years. EMT since circa 1975. All of this is in one pocket of my range bag that is marked by an orange zip tie and briefed to all my buddies at the beginning of every range session.

Always. Compression bandages, blood clot <quikclot> bandages, multiple TQs, Scissors, Vented Chest compression bandages. compression bandage, inflatable splints. All separate from a full first aid kit.

Quick google and Amazon search makes Celox look like a good addition to the shop and boat first aid kit.
For stubborn cuts that could use stiches but aren't bad enough to call it a day.

Diapers, maxi-pads, and tampons. Great for absorbing blood. I've never been certified to use any type of coagulates. Tournniquet and a roll of cling wrap do the rest.

The maxi pads and tampons seem to make the user angry and quarrelsome..never figured out why..

Don't forget the spackle. :)
I'm throwing out my current supplies, which are probably past their "best by" date. I'm putting this in my range bag.
