What is your go-to fighting pistol?

Excluding revolvers and 1911s (if you can stand it :D), I want to know which service-type pistol and caliber you would carry if you knew you were going into harm's way, assuming price (don't get carried away) and concealability were not concerns.

What say you?

To narrow the parameters, let's say that we're talking about a non-military, civil unrest/natural disaster type scenario...and it has to fire a pistol cartridge (no 7.62x39 or .45-70) and fit in a holster! :laughing

I suppose that rules out my choice then huh?

When I can't carry my 1911 into harms way I carry a P226 in 9mm.........

I guess these are out too!

Good Lord, Red Dawg. What are they?

Noisy crickets from Men in Black
Seriously

Sig P220 or XD-45 Compact for defensive pistol. I prefer the Sig, as I have fired considerably more rounds through it with no problems. The XD has functioned well so far, but I'll stick a proven performer when it matters.
I would have to say the Berreta 92:ak
No 1911, then my Beretta PX4 storm in .40cal. w/17 round mag.
No 1911's?----It would have to be my 40cal. Glock 22 RTF2........It is a war weapon 1st class....:thumsup
Sig 226, or .50AE
Choosing something I'm familiar with I'd go with the 14+1 CZ75 PCR.

M&P 40 over the 45 due to capacity. I like Sigs, but their 45's have capacity issues as well.

If my Sig 2340 held 15 instead of 12, I would take it.
If I can't have either of my 1911's then I would opt for the FN 57 w/ the military version (ss190) of the ammo as this WILL penetrate level III-A body armor and a bunch of the 30rd magazines.

Why would you need ss190 armor piercing ammo as a civilian? It just punches a tiny little hole, no expansion. You expecting to run up on some BG's wearing vests?
if i'm going to war, I want maximum penetration. I would expect the guys i'm going up agianst to armed for battle that means body armor. you know UN troops invade US soil sort of thing.

if the post is about carry around town, then yes the SS190 would be overkill by a long shot.
