Packing up stuff to go do a firearms safety demo for a couple of friends.

I take my venerable G27 out of its little hidey-hole, drop the mag, rack the slide and hear this strange sppppppppppppprrrrrroooooooooiiiiiiiiiggggggggggg sound.

Manage to clear the weapon and remove the slide. Broken recoil spring. Well, the weapon is 15 years old with 1.6billion rounds through it. Guess it was just POd at being neglected for so long. Stuck in another one...off we go.

Even Glocks have their moments. :drinks

Forethought to have a spare is commendable :drinks

Now don't forget to get another as a backup at some point :thumsup

Shoot straight, keep your powder dry and watch your back.

I keep in my bag:

Recoil spring assembly (for G27, G23)
Trigger return springs
Glock Armorers tool
Stock connectors (I just have them, they don't break).

For Glocks, that's really all that is going to go wrong at the range. If anything else breaks (HIGHLY unlikely), then you have a real problem.

Soooooo.....6 Glocks...18 years....this makes the second thing that has ever broken. The first was a trigger return spring. I shoot from reset, so I ddin't even know it was broken until I got home and took the thing apart.

I'm still thinking operator error. :laughing
Yeah. After 1.6 billion rounds you would think he would know how to use the thing. :rolf

Good thought to have spares around. :thumsup
