Well, I am finally going to use one of my perks as sponsor.

My wife and I want to offer a special for the upcoming Christmas Holiday and we would like a little feedback.

Our intent, is to get customers into a:

OWB/IWB (the holster is going to be alot like the tuckable, but w/ loops and notches for a belt. No reinforced mouth. I am finishing the art... next is a proto.)
Single Mag Carrier
Thick Belt (not quite 1/4" but thicker than a standard)
all cow. no exotics. just plain janes.
for $100 delivered.

What do you think? Is that reasonable?

I would like some honest thoughts.

This past season was crazy and ALOT of folks couldn't spend what they wanted and had to settle w/ less. I want to try and help make it more affordable this season for "santa" to bring what everyone one wants, within reason of course.

We plan on starting the sale at the end of October so people can plan. We also will do 1/2 down, 1/2 before shipping...

Thank you for your thoughts.

Thank you.
I want to make sure I try to help where I can.

I am spoiled because I can make whatever I want and not worry.
Hell, I am finishing and all elephant rig w/ grey ostrich for my new Caspian (Crown City MFG, actually) that has been sprayed: titanium frame and slick black slide.
But, I have talked to ALOT of people that are having a hard time and I want to do what I can. It helps the Karma thing and hopefully, give someone good piece of mind.

Cheers!

OMG dave, that's highway robbery. Just kidding. You are a pretty good guy and are very reasonably priced. I think you go above and beyond for everyone here.

The cheapest quality belt I have seen is around 80 bucks plus shipping.

The Holster you describe is probably at least sixty, mass produced and discounted plus shipping.

Your whole package sounds like a very, very good bargain to me. Are you sure it is feasable for you?

Pricing

Well. My average holster is $80, mag carrier is $25 and shooters belt is $55 plus $13 for shipping.

The holster is going to be modified and easy to build. The mag carrier will be easy as well. The most time consuming is the belt, and that is sheer stitch time.
The leather quality will still be very high. I won't scimp and use junk. I refuse.
I will probably order the belts precut from the leather factory (same price) so it will save me time.

I think it is feasible for my company to do so. Basically, I am taking labor down, considerably. But, I have a feeling I will have to add shipping: $13. I don't think that will be too painful. I want to use UPS since USPS is screwed up even more during the Holidays.

+1
Can make a living for your family doing this? More than likely, if you do it, you will get a lot of orders. That is going to stop you from doing work that is profitable. Maybe you should let it stand at first come first served capped at fifty?
You have a big family...and a dog.

Time line

I was thinking of running the special from 31 October to 30 November to make sure everything arrives in time.

By this time, my wife will be trained and proficient w/ the stitcher and can help ALOT!

Ironically Franklin, I have: 3 kids, 3 dogs, 2 cats, 6 ferrets, and a VERY large fish tank. Plus I babysit George when he isn't taking care of himself. LOL.

I was also thinking of only taking orders from FCC members, LE, EMS, MIL, etc. Dunno..... want to be fair but you are right, I have to be sensible w/o drowning.

As far as profit, the more leather I buy, the better price I receive. If I buy 6 hides at once, I think it will be a good profit margin. Not to mention, I buy dye in the Gallons now and my snaps are discounted direct from the factory.
Not to mention, I am going to have an apprentice whether I am here or if we are able to move to WA.

To keep it simple, I am going to offer standard things:

Vertical or FBI cant
Medium high or medium ride only
the loops and belt will be 1.5" unless for a lady, then 1.25" would be fine.
colors will be: black, brown, mahogany, saddle tan or honey
buckles will be nickel
stitching will be black
belt sizes over 50" to most used notch will be $10 more.

Thoughts???

Info

I understand custom is "worth" it. But right now, we are being screwed by our government and people are trying to do the right thing and get screwed more.
I want anyone to afford a nice holster for Christmas. This isn't all year, just my way of trying to help. I am not trying to suck up or try and win anyone over. I just want to help.

Jim, I am doing this so if I do move, I will drag your ass w/ me. LOL.

I can get a Brigadier, no problem.

Cheers!

Sounds like a great idea Dave.

We all appreciate what you do for us but don't shoot yourself in the foot with this thing. If it gets to be too much let us know and we can all show up to help.
