Does anybody own a IWB or other holster from Uncle Mike's? Are they any good? The prices are good, but are they too cheap to rely on?
The only Uncle Mike's I have is a paddle. It rides too high to hold the gun close and keep it there. Personally I prefer the Fobus to it, and the Galco paddle I have.

If you find one that suits your purpose it is OK. However, I assume you are not talking about the nylon holsters.
I would choose another holster, and if you can put out the money go for a quality holster.

Regards,
Jerry

I hate to say this but I've owned 3 different Uncle Mike's holsters and for me, all 3 were a waste of money. I should have learned with the first one but I knew it was really cheap so I bought a more expensive one. That one wasn't so good either. So I bought an even more expensive but still cheap holster and that one was better but didn't hold up for very long.

If it's all you can afford right now there's not much you can do. But if you can afford better or can wait while you save for a better holster, do it. You'll just buy a better holster later anyways.

May sound eliteist but the UM's are a POS.:rolf

If someone gave me one I think I'd have to reavaluate that friendship or their idea of my own worth. They'll hold a gun, and in that regard, they are a holster. Other than that, they are unacceptable for drawing from concealed with any proficiency of speed.

I got one when i got my gun, to be legal with car carry till i got my permit. The belt clip is to flimsy to hold well. I just got a Highnoon holster for about $35 that is much better. Leather and good metal belt clip.

My very first holster was an Uncle Mikes. I was attracted by the matching of price to income. As I belted it on for the first time with a Colt Series 70, it felt akin to carrying my weapon in a gunny sack tied to my side. The magazine holder stitched on the side was on par with the rest of the holster. I waited until I could afford something better.

I keep that holster around as a reminder to spend my money wisely, and that often meant waiting until I could afford something better. Belt and holsters are not the place to scrimp.

Just my 2 cents worth. :)

Best regards

I have an Uncle Mike's pocket holster for my S&W J-frame. Works good and yeah, it's cheap!

For waist carry, Uncle Mike's are cheap and you get exactly what you pay for; something to keep the pistol from falling to the floor. Now, I have used an Uncle Mike's for ankle carry of a BUG for years. It has been a tough little holster and, since speed is not usually an overriding concern with that method of carry, has served me well for the price.

I actually keep a couple of UM 'one-size-fits-none' belt slide holsters around for the inevitable newb who shows up at an IDPA match without a holster.

Yeah, it's a holster...in the same way that a compact inflatable 'donut' spare is technically a tire. :rolf

My UM holster really is a POS, but it was readily available and did the job until the next gun show. At the gun show I got something a little better and it sufficed while Dave was making my Little Bear rig. Now that will serve and serve well for as long as I carry the same gun.

Those are my EXACT thoughts on the UM, save your $ until you can get something better. I've been wearing a CrossBreed SuperTuck in horsehide, I love it.
