I just picked up my holster yesterday from Littlebear.

I love it but I do have one problem with it. I can't seem to master tucking my shirt in. The weight of the holster and weapon wants to pull my pants down :D when they are unbuttoned for tucking in the shirt.

Is there some magic way or some secret move that I don't know yet?

I love the holster and it is very comfortable but I want to tuck my shirt in.

Pictures of the holster will be up soon. Got to charge the batteries on my Canon DSLR so that I can get decent pics.

What type of belt are you using? Is it a gun belt or a off the rack department store type belt. If the answer is the latter of the two then theres the answer to your question.
It's a heavy thick belt from Gander Mountain but its not an actual gun belt.

My problem is trying to get the shirt to go between the holster and the pants. Its kind of tight so I can't get it to lay right. I guess I just need practice. :D

Hi Paladin
First, congratulations! I can't wait to get my Little Bear Custom Holster. I chose to not get the tuckable iwb holster. I also ordered a magazine and light sheath. I can't wait! I will just use their loops so no issues here.
Secondly, By the way you write I would think you are as old as I am, 48.
I guess because you live in the promised land, aka Fruit Cove, you feel you need to tuck in your shirts and I can understand that. IF you lived anywhere else, I'd call you a "Pretty Boy" for feeling the need:rolf (forgive me, I just couldn't help it). I'm going to wear my Tommy Gun Pack (with a tucked shirt:rolleyes:) or an Hawaiian shirt (untucked!) with my Little Bear Holster. I wish I had an answer for you other than what I already know you've thought of; tighten your belt...a lot:thumsup!
Sorry I was no help. Good luck on the fix!

Tucking is effortless w/CrossBreed for sure. :thumsup
I do it one handed, on-the-fly sometimes. I usually wear 2 shirts, and tuck the under shirt when I want deep concealment (when I'm crawling inside/around air conditioners in front of customers)

Hi Paladin
After reading about your problem (sorry for my first poor response, humor?) and reading the suggestions about a shooters belt, I ordered one from Little Bear. Dave said it would make the world of difference. Maybe it would for you too? Thanks for the problem (sorry again, bad humor). Now I can pick up the holster, sheaths and belt at the same time!
Best regards and good luck!

Paladin,

It certainly can be a bit awkward, and I'm just learning myself. The best method I've found so far is to start with my shirt tucked in and the holster over the shirt. Tighten the belt to one notch short of where you actually want it. Then pull out the shirt just around the gun and holster, and just enough to clear the handle. Tuck it in around the clips, and adjust elsewhere as necessary. Then tighten the belt one more notch.

"Pretty Boy"?

So that is what Ponte Vedra residents think of Julington Creek Plantation? :rolf

I usually wear the shirt tail out but there are times at church or dates with my wife when I need to have it in. That is why I went tuckable though I can quickly switch to owb.

Paladin,

You may have to adjust your depth of the actual holster by moving the clips "down". Your shirt also has to be LONG enough to go over the gun and between the clips. Some of my shirts cannot be tucked w/a gun due to the lack of length.
Dave, the holster is great. I just need to figure out the best way to tuck.

I like the way the holster sets now so I'll just leave the clips as they are and practice tucking my shirt.

Thanks Steve. That is probably the best advice I've received. I was trying to do it all at once and it is awkward doing it that way. I'll try your approach.

Okay Paladin, I think I've worked out a solution for the interim. First, you need a real gun belt. It will hold your pants open (they won't fold up because of the belt's stiffness). Next, get a bungee cord and hook it to the rear center belt loop and run it over the opposite shoulder of your rig, attach it to the belt loop in front. That'll hold your britches up while you tuck your shirt in. Then simply unhook the bungee cord when done. :thumsup

god forbid you have to take a : censored when your on the go. Guess your pants will just have to stay around your knees then.

That is the sissy way out of the problem.

I've just started stapling my pants to my waist and now they stay in place. :rolf

Cool. You must'a just got that new Binford 5000 body stapler. Also great for tummy tucks on those special nights out and your dress pants are too tight in the waist.... :puke

Steve48 is close to the same as what I do with my Crossbreed. I tuck my shirt all around and then pull it up over the gun and holster and tuck between the holster and your pants. I've also found it helpful to pull the shirt down tight from the front and rear of the holster and then gently pull it out a some after everything is all buttoned up.
