I would say it was a good move considering you do have other 9s and the walther is worth more then the keltec from what i have seen on the market.

Congrats on the new acquisition!!

Sweet! :thumsup

I've decided that when my permit finally gets here, I'm going to go buy a nice 22 pistol at the shop or next show, just so I can walk out without the stupid 3 day wait. The P22 is one of the handful I've narrowed it down to choose from.

Took it to the range today... not quite as accurate as the MKII I gave to dad, but real close.... Overall...... I'm happy with the trade

Here's what it would look like with a can on it.

60 grain subsonic ammo and all you hear is the slide moving from 10 feet away.

Nice pickup capngeo.

Good move. Congrats

It's not the worlds best man stopper but most people really underestimate the stopping power of the 22LR.

Darn, I'm a bit jealous, I've been wanting a P22 for quite some time now for pretty much the same reasons... :drinks :D

I have both (PF-9 and P22) and wouldn't trade either.

I've put 10k + rounds through the P22... it's a little over 2 years old. Well, actually, my daughters have helped put quite a few rounds through it. Give them a minute, and they'll come back with 5 empty magazines, and a big smile.

If you're buying bulk ammo for it, I have the best luck with the Remington 550 (green box) that Wally-world sells... or used to... if you can find ammo anywhere these days. Anything coated works well. Stay FAR, FAR, away from Remington Thunderbolts! They're cheap, but will lead up your barrel like you wouldn't believe! Bad stuff...

Anyway, the P22 certainly isn't a Ruger in the accuracy department, but then again, who wants to carry a 10lb gun around with them? :D

EXACTLY! I really liked that Ruger... I believe its weight was a good bit of its accuracy. I put another 200 through the Walther today about 3" groups at ten yards aimed.. about 6" point shooting. Good enough!

No one is going to complain about that grouping sir. Head shots at 30 feet without the use of sights seems more than adequate for any task at hand. Makes it 3" at 15 feet and 1.5" groups at 7-8 feet :thumsup

Thanks for the flowers Brownie.... but a 6" group at ten yards guarantees me to shoot off the BG's ear if I go for a head shot!!!:rolf

In all fairness to the Ruger MKII I had..... I never tried point shooting with it. That is something I recently started with the Airsoft (the neighbors look at me a little funny, as I walk around the yard doing yardwork, drawing and shooting all day long)

:drinks Thanks again for the Airsoft idea Brownie... my shooting skills have gone up a LOT with the airsoft.... and no trouble getting ammo!!!!:dancingbanana

So, when you gonna post a pic of the airsoft. This sounds interesting except for the fact I would need one to mimic each of several different guns. That could get expensive and my wallet feels a little wilted after purchasing so many handguns in the past couple of months.

I started with a spring, plastic imitation G26 for about $10....

Then a KWA green gas gun for about $125

I have a buddy who has a paintball shop, who handles all sorts of airsoft stuff...

Walther P22 just purchased!

I just bought a new Walther P22 in the J'ville for $389.

It will be:
- a good weapon for this novice to practice shooting
- cheap to practice with inexpensive ammo
- lethal with pricey hollow point / stinger ammo
- a 2nd concealed carry weapon option

I kept my Kel-Tec PF9 and will use that as my EDC once I get my CWL(waiting 6weeks so far). I've heard that some prefer to carry a higher caliber weapon(9mm, .40, etc). But, I really think that any bullett being fired at someone should give them something to think about. Also, there are ten(10) available bullets ready for "transfer." Ten exploding bullets has to convince somebody out there to check themselves. I know...there could be that scenario of that dude on PCP or Crack that is charging at me but....I've managed to avoid that scene up till now. After the 10th bullet, I'll initiate Plan #2....run!

As an fyi, youtube has TONS of videos regarding weapons and firearms...here's one that displays the Walther P22 in a cheesey way:

There are more options...

1) Keep one round chambered, so you can pull the trigger ONE more time (10+1)
2) Get a +3 follower for your mags. That will give you 13+1 total.

I would argue that the CCI Velocitor would be a better self defense round than the Stinger. You might want to check it out...

Welcome to the world of P22!
