I think they were just trying to "get on the record" in introducing it. Just like all the FL anti-gun bills that keep getting introduced each session (or yes, to be fair, pro gun bills that also fail).
I guess they hope that one day, it just might stick. And, they can say to their constituents, "Hey we tried to do something...."

Anyway - the whole idea is to stake a claim on the idea. Then keep re-introducing it until one day it maybe sticks.

That's why we gotta shoot this **** down, no matter how insignificant it seems at the time. I guarantee if I were to look through the Congressional record going back say 60-70 years, there were attempts to pass gun laws that got the authors laughed out of the room. But now some of those attempts are actual laws that we have to fight hard against.

Or look at something like healthcare. 50 years ago, "universal healthcare" was considered a fringe belief. Now it's a central part of the Democratic Party platform.

Better to kill these things before they become real problems. Don't disregard Booker. Treat him and all his supporters with scorn, contempt, mockery, and hate. Yes - hate. It's OK to judge someone by the content of their character. Cory's a jerk and we can hate him.
