Thanks TS. Perhaps if the movie was made today he would probably carry a S&W 500 or 460.
Why not resurrect a great thread with a new member of my Colt family. This is a Diamondback 2.5" (.38 cal) that was born in 1978, that just arrived.

Is it a trick of the light, or does the King Cobra have some interesting toning?

Trick of light, I really need to take some better pictures of my collection i.e. w/o fingerprints and better poses

Why not resurrect a thread near and dear to my heart and I'm sure a few others as well. Nothing like gun porn. :)

I wanted to gift a couple of revolvers to two of my close friends when I realized I liked my Colt Detective Special revolvers way too much to part with them. My only solution was to find a couple of new blue and nickel Colts. Yesterday I received my two new "gift" Colt Detective Specials, so I figured it might be nice to take a family pic while they are all here.

Other than the 3" DS-II in stainless (center) and the 2" SV-VI (DS-II) in stainless (bottom), the rest are 2" Third Series Detective Specials produced between 1973-1986. The Third Series had the new shroud that protected the ejector rod, along with a few other improvements.

If you like a snub nosed revolver, you will never be sorry with a 6 shot Colt Detective Special, IMHO.

Quite the nice collection you have started there Ron :thumsup
Guns are just another commodity and used as a source of investment. I don't marry the guns, I'll enjoy the fact I've owned them but they are all for sale eventually because they are bought as investments for the most part. I've made one retirement out of collecting firearms and selling them years later. Buy the right guns [ as you know], and they go up every year, sometimes by 10-15%. I've lost money in other investments, but not so with the firearms. :thumsup
How do you keep the drool off those? When I picture the 'classic' revolver the members of that little family of yours fits the bill to a T.

Here are a couple pics from me. I was hard up for cash a year or so ago and sold the Colt.
