I took this thread from a forum that is biased towards one gun only so thought I would ask it here and maybe get some different angles since this site isn't geared toward one particular gun.

What do you have, think or used that is the most under rated pistols that doesn't get enough credit for its performance?

The most over rated pistols (paying for the name, great marketing) that haven't performed to your expectations?

I guess no one has fired an underrated firearm that deserves more credit?

No one has fired a weapon they thought was supposed to be great then upon using it were disappointed? Come on you have to have a couple of each!

S&W Sigma, I have a 9mm and find no problem with the trigger at all. It's not a match pistol and the trigger is long and hard for a reason. I have found if you pull as opposed to squeeezzzze the trigger it's just fine. In a SHTF situation I believe we will all be "pulling" anyway. It's very accurate and 100% reliable and certainly affordable. Made in the USA as well! I polished the slide on mine and it even looks kind of nice. My nephew said "it's like putting rims on a Yugo", he's an M&P snob.

Settle down Mr. Nocturnal. Not everyone is up at 2am like you! :laughing

Only gun I ever had that I wasn't happy with was a Walther PPK .380. Got rid of it and replaced it with an XD9 subcompact and later got my XD40 subcompact.

Well, I have such a gun that has never malfunctioned with me and every time I pick it up, the thought runs through my mind that it is still the best feeling pistol I've held in my hand. Perhaps it just fits my hand really well and this is why it points so naturally for me. It is an EAA Witness Compact in 40 S&W.

Let the flames begin!:D:popcorn

Interestingly enough, both guns are 1911s in my case. I have a Taurus PT1911 that I absolutely love, yet it gets no respect from the 1911 snobs. On the other hand, I had a Kimber Tactical Custom II that cost twice as much and didn't perform nearly as well. Go figure.

Flame? Don't see why. I have no problems with the EAAs. Need to get one some day....love the way they fit my hand.

As for me.....My Taurus revos have always been poo-pooed. My 85UL Titanium gets to ride in my pocket while the half-again as expensive J-frames sits in the box.

LOL.....I took a quick power nap at 9:30pm. I didn't mean to but if I take a power nap close to my normal bed time it means I will be up till 2-3:00a.m.

My instructor let me shoot his XD compact and it fit my hand so perfect that despite my impulse buy on the Taurus the other day I will add the XD to my addiction.

Not really sure if it's underrated as I've seen mostly good reviews on it.... but my Kahr CW9 has been absolutely flawless, not a single issue. Not as expensive as the metal Kahrs, but so far just as reliable.

IMHO CZ's are the most underrated

And Kimber is way overrated and over priced.

Just my .02 and I don't own ether one.

I agree Kimbers are way too expensive. I own a couple Taurus' and they are both great pistols. Cheap, accurate and so far very reliable.

Don't own one, yet, but from everything I've heard, the Bersas are underrated.

Taurus has to be one of the most under-rated of all time. I own three and have never had a single issue in 23 years of ownership

I just bought the Taurus PT911 (15 rounds, 9mm) a few weeks ago with out firing it but it felt great in my hands and liked that it was a bit heavier than my G27.

I couldn't carry on person but........For some reason I keep seeing the Springfield XD in the near future.

Kahr?

This is the gun that is on the cover of the Jon Gutmachers Florida Firearms Law, Use & Ownership............

I rarely if ever see this gun mentioned anywhere? My friend in N.P.R has a
.40 Cal by KAHR.....Only held 5 rounds, possibly 6 but it had almost zero kick back.........

Since I rarely see it mentioned was wondering what you members think about it? His wife bought it for him. I think he is/was looking for some thing a bit more.
