hi all,

OK, my beautiful bride went to the post office today and mailed out my CCW application. I sent it priority mail w/ a certified mail receipt so I'll at least know when they receive it. The clock is officially ticking as of today. I followed all of Weston Arms' rules to the letter, so if there is some magic way that their plan speeds things up, we'll know in the next several weeks.

I'll keep you posted but for right now...

I didn't bother with the return receipt, If they couldn't deliver it, It would have made it back to my address. Tomorrow will be a month since sending my app in and they still haven't cashed my check. :thumbsdwn

I hope you have better luck :thumsup

I am keeping a positive outlook on the wait. My app should be easy to process. They would only need to go back 9 yrs on my background check, my prints are already in the system, and I sent a copy of my Criminal Justice State Corrections Officer certification with number, Criminal Justice School of Handguns completion certificate. ...If they would just open my app and cash my check already...:D

That's interesting. I got my mortgage license in 2006. They did an FBI background check on me then too. Is that what takes the longest time? The background check?

I'd be very happy to have my CCW arrive by my birthday on March 12th, but it looks like it'll be closer to Easter on April 12th.

On the bright side, I'm going to the Southern Gun and Knife show this coming weekend in Miami where I'll probably buy my 92fs or M9. A week later I'll be at the range for the first time. :D

Back in the day, permits were issued in weeks not months. The process was quick, but the amount of applications were low. DOA is working with a huge number of applications so the process takes longer. I believe its all relative. Most people these days are receiving their applications within 90 days
