Pic is circulating the internet. Of course gun and hand is superimposed over the food court. But some on other forums have said they are familiar with the mall and food court and that is it.
Never the less we do know he engaged him and fired first shots from 40yds. He fired 10rnds beginning to end while closing the distance. Police have confirmed that from surveillance video only they have seen. Coroner confirmed bad guy had received 8 hits.
So I think the first pic and ‘drill’ is fairly accurate of what happened.
Supposed food court is empty.

A member on the Sig forum says he knows a leo involved and our GG had a GL19 with WML. Nothing else. Scored 8 hits out of 10 shots. He did better than most trained police or military could do and he’s neither with zero training.

add a moving target to the scenario for accuracy...the first shot hit the shooter and he attempted to move back toward the restroom but collapsed as he took more incoming...this guy is my hero...my wife looked at me and asked why only ten from a glock...i replied that he probably wanted to preserve a few rounds in case the guy got back up...this kid made some fierce hits at that distance under stress with innocents panicking around him...while he waved people to exit safely behind him...i'm guessing he has participated in some sort of shooting games or has a real knack for video gaming/quick target acquisition and a steady hand...

Nope. According to the police chief, he was not formally trained in any way. He told the police his grandfather taught him to shoot. That's it.

i salute his grandfather...but i wasnt referring to formal training...we had a youngster show up at idpa one week with no experience whatsoever...he was a bit cocky and mentioned that he played splatball games with his friends...kid nailed every scenario with honors...fast on his feet...quick aquisition and deadly accuracy...practice of any kind can be valuable...

I meant that, according to the police, the ONLY (formal / informal / whatever) training he had was his grandfather teaching him how to shoot.
