OK folks. I promise, for now, this will be my last question about a gun I'm looking to get for a BUG. I stumbled across the new Taurus .380 while perusing the net..It appears to be smaller than the Kel Tec P3AT and actually 'looks like' a gun...Has anybody seen one live and in person. If so what were your impressions and if you know, what was the price? (List is around $270+/-)..Thanks in advance...

What about a small 9 mm? The Taurus weighs 10 oz., P3AT 8, the Kel Tec PF9 12. A box of 9 mm is $14 and get it anywhere, a box of 380 is $30 plus if you can get it.

I was looking at the P3AT the other day..Perfect size for (my idea of) a bug..The PF9 is a little too big for IWB with a clip or front pocket carry..The KelTec 380 looks cheap, no offense to you who own them. This Taurus looks to be better finished..Not in a huge rush to buy the BUG but if I find the one I want at the right price I'll go for it...By the way, I like your new avatar..

I've had the PF9 in my front pocket for two weeks (no funny guy, not in bed), I can't tell I'm carrying. I have
the 3AT also. Ammo is expensive and hard to find.
Good job, by the way, insulting gun owner's guns, Did I mention people here are carrying guns?
Franklin
PS. Thanks Bonz, I put a lot of thought into it.

You wear pockets to bed?
Notice I did not insult the gun owner!!!
And, I've never said how I really feel about the way Glocks look...:D

I would probably do the LCP over the Taurus ONLY because the Taurus is still new. Let everyone else work out the kinks.

Also, I have nothing against Taurus. Looks like a pretty slick firearm.

Assuming that the Taurus TCP doesn't turn out to be a lemon, I would consider it to be functionally equivalent to the Kel-Tec P3AT and the Ruger LCP. They are all designed to fill the same tactical niche (to be carried a lot and shot a little), so I don't think there will be any significant differences in terms of quality or durability between the three.

I have a Kel-Tec P3AT, it was purchased before the Ruger and Taurus was avail. I do like the slide open option on the Ruger and Taurus, would make for easy inspection and cleaning. If .380 Taurus pans out to be reliable, That may be what I'll purchase next over Ruger due to weight/bulk issue only.

+1 I really like the slide lock.
