I just saw this on another site I frequent. It is relatively new so not much in the database yet but who knows. Just thought I'd post it here.

Some useful links, Thanks Gentlemen. :thumsup
My thoughts exactly !!!Does anybody really want to give a list of all the guns they own to a company providing a data base for 'stolen' guns? Who owns the website? What will become of the info. provided to them? What are the guarantees you are not setting yourself up for a bad surprise? Who me paranoid?...Nah
I can't answer for Florida specifically, however, I'd imagine it works the same way as Arkansas did. Back in Arkansas, I worked at a shop during High School, ALL items taken in on pawn or even bought outright were required to be listed on a sheriff's log and turned in, there the SO would run all serial numbers and even basic descriptions to match up with stolen goods databases. A pawn shop would be in serious violation of various county and state laws if they failed to place an item on that report.Do pawn shops check if the guns are stolen before receiving them?
Edit: I guess I should ask: Are they SUPPOSED to check before receiving them?

I lost my gun once and I had to get the law involved. I asked the sheriff if I should post it in the country store near my house and answered no. Well, I did anyway, lo and behold, a guy calls me asking if I had lost something. We met that night and I retrieved my gun. You know, the guy had cleaned it. God bless him.wow my paranoia just set in huge. Is this a site set up by the Brady bunch so they can collect volunteer information about how dangerous gun ownership is for private citizens? I can already see the headline..."Just look how many guns are stolen each year, this is how the BG's get these weapons, we need to act NOW"
Okay, maybe I'm overreacting, but it still makes me feel awkward, don't think I would post there.
Also, if you purchase your firearms legally, then your behind is covered if the gun does end up to be stolen and someone finds it on you 'hey, I got a receipt from a gun dealer/guy who sold it to me, etc..'
