Rick, where do you get the stones? THANKS!
They were a set of samples that I got years ago. They go from 120 to 600. If the company name comes to me, I’ll post it here.

I’m sure that you can get smithing stones from Brownells.

That’s the first place i checked. I was not too impressed with their selection. There is a 1911 trigger channel stone that i may purchase if TrapperJ doesnt have one. It sounds like the only one I am need to do the work, but he has quite a few from what he tells me. Right now the channel stone is back ordered and not at all expensive. They have stones from India but I’d rather get the set of Arkansas stones. They have a 3-4 stone set for about 40.00. Everything else is 30 or 40 bucks a piece.

No creep, 4.6# pull which im sure after i shoot it tomorrow it will feel more like 3ish +, but the next step is to polish the trigger grooves in the frame....and replace the trigger with a Harrison flat trigger....thanks Rick Mc, couldnt have done it without ya........!!!

RRA 1911?

Rock River Arms made some nice 1911s years ago, quit for a while to make ARs until that market dropped, then started making 1911s again a year or two ago.

RR= Range Report

Never handles one of those 1911’s. Where they any good?

I saw at my local Shoot Straight this weekend that they have a Para double stack 1911 in the used case. Always wanted one of those but, the grip is just to fat for my girly hands (<——beat everyone to the joke).

Well “duh” on the RR.

If you want a double stack 1911, the 9mms usually aren’t as wide through the grip frame as the .45 ACP ones.

I had some trouble with a DS Para years ago, but it was one of the little ones.
