I've been holding off on buying an airsoft pistol thinking that something in green gas would show up in an M&P 40c. Well, almost a year later the only real airsofts that are out are the full size CO2 cartridge guns or the spring powered guns. The only real differences are the speed/velocity of the "pellets" and the cost ($60 for CO2 and $40 for spring). The CO2 gun shoots around 380 ft/sec and the spring goes around 300 ft/sec. The "spring gun" is closer to the weight and can be broken down a little whereas the CO2 gun can't. Which would you buy? I'm wanting it for training purposes.

It's called green gas or use propane. I have an Airsoft Glock 23 and I use it to practice and it is used in our NRA " First Step Pistol Courses" prior to going to the range. It gives beginners a first brush with firearms prior to the big bang. Good for proper firearm holding, safety and aiming.

I know it's green gas. I even have found out how to do it myself without buying the green gas "cylinders" so to speak. I just cannot find an M&P 40c yet. I've been around guns for most of the 42 years of my life now and so I am no stranger. Ammo prices, the desire to train, and the desire to shoot anytime I want to without having to go to a range is what has made me decide on the green gas or airsoft pistols. Just nothing out there that closely mimics my EDC right now.

Brownie,

Thats's what I plan but in the meantime I want to get something to "play" and train with besides the real deal. I want to build the muscle memory. Have you seen anything in the makings of a green gas M&P at your shop? Some of the places around here ask why I would want such a thing. I've grown tired of explaining to them that "practice makes perfect" and I am working on muscle memory. I have a couple of empty rooms in the building I work in and could spend some if not all of my lunch time doing such a thing on most days since no one is in these rooms. I've been searching the web for the green gas gun and unless I get a glock or 1911, pickings are rather slim for S&W right now.

I haven't seen the M+P versions released anywhere, but you can get any gas operated pistol and practice the skills in the meantime.

I don't like the spring or CO2 guns as they will not last and are a waste of money IMO.

Students learned very quickly that you can swap guns out all the time and the skills remain the same. I have students hand me their guns and even if I've never shot that gun maker/model before the skills are there as well as the guns I am familiar with.

Brownie, These gas guns that you are talking about I have never seen or heard of, the other 2 I have. Do you have a website where I can get some information on these training pistols? Are they built to simulate EDC guns say Glock for example. Thanks for any info you may provide in advance. G30.... :) :)

' I would rather be judged by 12 than carrted by 6 "

P.S. I read your post on the 10/22 ruger with 3/8 hole 5rds thru at 300 yds, very impressive, what are your sight configured at???

Brownie, thank you sir. I'll look into the other models.

Glock30, do a search for airsoft. There are a couple of threads and a lot of mention of it in the forum.

Those shots were made with a Ruger204 caliber in a Rem VTR, not 10/22

Search here for airsofts, I and others have links up on where to buy the gas guns
