Call me crazy, but are there any others out there interested in a Sporran holster. (For those who may not know, it is Gaelic for bag or purse that goes w/ a kilt. Yes, I wear kilts. I feel pretty... I have the legs for it. :rolf Well, except the 6" scars on the backs of my legs.)
Anyways, if anyone is interested, please contact me. I am in the planning stages of creating such and would like as much input as possible. I know how I want to build mine, but there are better ideas out there I am quite sure.
And if anyone is interested, I believe Neo Kilt makes a kilt w/ a holster built into it.

Seriously, I have no idea about how a kilt holster should look and work but I wish you luck,

Oh come on.... ya scared???

Technically, kilts were worn by Highland Warriors. I don't wear the knee high socks. Need a pair of Doc Martins to go with them. I am more the metal/punk guy that hasn't grown up. If my hair wasn't mainly silver, I would grow my hair back. LOL.

Eye...

Glad you are happy w/ the belt. Sorry about the splice... couldn't be helped.
If you have a small enough firearm, I would be glad to have more help. I don't want it to be too big; I am thinking 3" 1911 size max. (j frames, keltecs, LCP, etc.)

I talked to Dave a little about this yesterday. The EMP is EXACTLY the type of firearm he's looking to target (pun fully intended). 3" 1911s, Kahrs, LCPs, etc...

For the un-kilted among you....the sporran is not part of the kilt. It's the gear bag worn in front, like so:

I find this thread fascinating. Where does a man wear a kilt nowadays in Florida? At festivals? Parades?

Dave, I'm imagining you with critter tattoos all up and down your arms and wearing a kilt, oh, and silver hair. Photos, man, photos. :dancingbanana

So to put it simply, it's a purse for a man with a kilt.:laughing

There shall be no pics LOL.

Yeah, my wife is rolling about all the kilt/murse talk.

Ironically, she digs kilts but thinks it is hilarious w/ the "murse" that will hold a gun. Then she can call me all sorts of names I cannot repeat on the forum.

Is that like the "manzeer"? or the "Bro". I guess if it is for men then its a "murse"

I guess you can make like a fanny pack holster with that "murse".

Maybe you could rig something for a very small gun under the flap of that "Sporran" (murse).

I am hispanic, I am not sure we are allowed to wear kilts. My ancestors probably wore a loin cloth though.

Yeah, it could be done so but the Sporran uses a thin leather strap that attaches to the belt (modern ones use chains).
I want to start tooling them w/ Celtic Knots, Tribal, Flames (poor choice of words for the murse LOL), etc.
If that Sporran dangles it won't be a very stable place to draw from. I can imagine trying to draw and the whole Sporran winding up in front of you. Well you can always shoot the Sporran with your first round. Imagine the news headlines,

"Would be Robber Killed by Man's Purse".
A man was killed this evening while trying to rob a man in a skirt at gun point. The robber was killed when the man identified as a biker type heavy metal guy in a skirt shot his purse and hit the robber between the eyes. Police at the scene said the purse must have been traveling at least 1250 fs in order to produce that much damage. The robber's identity is being withheld till the purse can be dislodged from the man's head and the family can identify the body.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!

Sad thing is it is possible.

Seriously, the system will be stabalized by the additional belt connector.

There are alot of variables hence why I was looking for help w/ the project.

That was awesome dude. Just freakin' awesome. Thank God I was not drinking my soda at the time or I would have needed a new keyboard and monitor.

LOL.
