Yes, you should call.

Be aware though that you will probably get a busy signal. If you does ring you will probably get into a hold queue for up to 45 minutes. My two calls each had 15 - 20 minute holds.

Just plan your time accordingly.

I decided to call about 5 minutes after reading your post - was on hold for 15 minutes before I was connected to an operator who looked up my info. My application was received on 01/05/2009, and is currently in the system. They received the fax I sent with my citizenship certificate, so I should be good to go by the time they finally get to me. The lady I spoke with mentioned that my application "hadn't even been looked at yet" and that I should expect another 3-4 month wait.

I'll probably call on 04/04/2009 (the day before my 90 day anniv.) and complain if they still haven't issued it.

I was told by a supervisor yesterday that she issued my license while I was on the phone with her.

I just called and spoke with the person that answered the phone. She said I was in the system but not processed.

I am beginning to wonder if the person that answers the phone ever gives out truthful information. Or just spits out anything to get you off the phone.

Paladin, I was told by a supervisor that she, "Would take care of it". I waited over the weekend and called this Tuesday (fifth day after speaking with supervisor) and the operator said my permit was "issued". She added, without my asking, that I should receive it in seven to ten days. Obviously, this is what they have been instructed to tell people who have been issued.

IF you get a answer other than "issued", IMHO you should call back and ask for the supervisor who told you she was issuing it when you spoke with her.

Perhaps she discovered something else missing or got sidetracked. They are so overwhelmed that FIRST, IMHO, NOONE should call before at least sixty days has expired or ninty if there is no pressing reason to AND untill you verify with the person who answers that it is in "issued" status, don't assume it has been. Others have been told , "Oops!"

MPDC66 we probably had the same Supervisor. I am on day 9 of my wait since issued.

I recommend calling at 60, 75, 90 day minimum to check status

Curtis, Definitely call. Introduce your self and ask the rep their name. Call them by the name they gave you. They will ask you your SS#. See what they say. If they give you. "Your in the system", or, "still in processing.", Let them know politely that you are past 90 days and its your first call to them. Let them know you would like to speak with a Supervisor and thank him/her for taking your call

When the Supervisor gets on the line, Thank him/her for taking your call. Introduce yourself, get thier name and tell your issue. Ask for a timeline. Its a good idea to be stern but not overbearing

This approached worked for me. They are very nice to work with. I feel that they get a ton of calls and I can bet that most folks who call in are rude, so a little politeness will get you a long way and the information you are seeking

I spoke with a supervisor this morning (not the one I spoke with 2 days ago) and she told me my permit was issued 2 days ago. :dancingbanana

My take on this is never take the word of the person that originally answers the phone. It is my opinion that their main goal is to get you off the phone and the information you get from them is questionable at best.

Always ask for a supervisor.

talked to a very nice supervisor and she told me that the photo is in the digitizing process and to call back in a week. i do not see why the people that first answer the phone cannot give that detail? the first operator just said it is waiting for review. oh well, it looks like it will be soon.
