Yesterday, the manager of our apartment complex, asked me: "Is it true that you carry a gun ?"
Now, I have been talking to her several times a week for almost 7 years; I am usually wearing a jean and t-shirt untucked (when I am not in uniform)
On my 5' 8", 145 lbs frame the G-26 in the M-TAC at 3:00 o'clock sticks out like the proverbial sore thumb, especially when I've been outside for a while and sweating.
And those who know me here know that I really don't care about printing.
Every now and then, if I help her with something, like being on a step-ladder and lifting my arms, the Glock shows.

So, I point to the bulge on my right side and ask her:
"What do you think that is ?" and I lift my shirt.
She says: "Oh, I never noticed"  :smack

To you guys (and gals) who just started carrying and feel a little "self-conscious" RELAX ... nobody is paying attention !!!
Except, maybe another CCW and that's not granted. I don't try to "make" people, maybe because after 20++ years of having that thing on my belt, I forget all about guns and CCW ... until I get in "condition orange".

Funny how we (I) think. I went to the Friends of the NRA banquet tonight. Had my PT111 Pro in my LBCH OWB. The Volusia County sherrif was there, open carrying, and there were a couple other very young LEO's there..(didn't know they made cops that young ).
The owner of Buck's Gunshop was there, his ever present 32 in his pocket. God knows how many others were carrying.

And I was concerned about printing...:doh ...newbie paranoia?

I was at Wally world about a week ago and stop in sporting goods. I know the two clerks pretty well from stopping in on a regular basis to see what is in stock. We have had many discussions about guns, ammo and even recently a conversation about concealed carry, but I never mentioned I carry.

So the one clerk starts telling a story about an elder gentleman bringing a gun into the store in a case. He flips open the case and takes out the gun and hands it to the clerk and says I need ammo. So they get security and put a sticker on it. But the funny thing is the clerk who is telling me the story then starts into a long lecture on how guns are not permitted in wal-mart.

I just nodded my head for a bit and then tell him I have to run a pick up a few things in the grocery section because that was why my wife had asked me to stop on the way home. He was clueless that I was carry two guns and both were printing to some extent. And this guy was three feet away and talks to me often while I am carrying.

People are not that aware.

Strange isn't it? I still am obvious to the fact I'm carrying and I know others aren't aware but I still feel uncomfortable at times. :smack

I have to agree...nobody is looking..... All the years I have been carrying, if there was a law giving a slap for printing I would have been beaten blue.
But then again, along with people not looking, think of the odds of actually running into a person carrying and printing on any particular day. I don't know the numbers, but one in "how many" people is a cc'er in Florida, then how many are actually carrying at any given time, and of that number how many are printing enough to be "found out". Plus the fact that so much of the population isn't even aware of concealed carry..well.. how could anybody be looking!?!??! They don't even know that something exists so they can't even know it if they do see it. So, most people are checking out hair, clothes, body types(I'll leave the graphics to your own minds) or looking for their own store in the mall. Hard to get "caught". Carry on, with that sixteen shot cell phone bumping your shirt a little.
