Last week I went for some shooting instruction for accuracy. I always draw from concealment even when training, cause it just makes sense to me, because that's always how it will be in the real world. After about 1/2 hour the instructor said " you need to draw with 2 hands, lift up shirt with left hand, draw with right hand ". I said " That's NEVER gonna happen, what if someone in close quarters quickly swings a knife at you ? Are you going to let him stab you while you’re drawing your gun ? I want one hand free to defend or deflect while drawing. What if you have a child in your arms, are you going to drop the child to draw your gun ? etc... He looked at me for a few seconds , and said OK. I believe I got him thinking.
I really never realized that when someone that is not familiar with the one handed draw, it probably looks weird and wrong to them because 99% of people draw with 2 hands. I don't think I've even tried a 2 handed draw in over 6 years.
On another note, Shark and I are going to a one day Tactical training class tomorrow in Cocoa for those who remember the Shark 🦈🔫
