Just got my 1911 GI back from Springfield Armory. I sent it May 6th, got it back May 14th pretty good turn around. According to the enclosed invoice they replaced the extractor, reamed barrel and polished the feed ramp. The best part was it cost $0.00 including shipping :dancingbanana
I hope to take it to the range tomorrow morning and see how she works now. Again, thanks for all the input! :thumsup

Well, I just returned from the range, shot 100 rounds (50 American Eagle / 50 Fiocchi) and not one FTF/FTE. I can finally enjoy shooting my 1911 GI! :clap
Springfield Armory does indeed have excellent customer service both on the phone and in their shop. I highly recommend them :thumsup

I agree with their customer service and warranty work. Just yesterday I got my M1a trigger group back for replacement of the broken safety lever. Took two weeks round trip and it appears they tweaked mine to a NM trigger pull weight as well. :thumsup

Glad you got such a good turn around, devilfrog. I sent my LW Commander to Colt almost two weeks ago and haven't heard diddly. SW would have built me a new gun by now!
