If you can find an older version, it would fit the pistol a lot better. I ordered two new ones (one from Tyler, one from aftermarket) and neither one fits properly without gaps of trimming your stocks. Just a heads up.

Probably just as easy to buy a set of modern boot grips. You can get the “two finger” boot grips, or some that make room for the pinky, too:

The one on the right look like Altamont (spelling?) set of grips/stocks.

Actually; the gun on the left has Altamonts; made to order because of the laser “carving” on the stocks in addition to the checkering. Took a bit over a month from order to delivery.
The extra carving is in the dark areas on the stock. You have to zoom in on the pic to see it; American Scrollwork.

The ones on the gun on the right came from S&W that way. It’s a 640-1 that came with the engraving, the fancy stocks, and an actual Made in USA presentation case. It also came with a hard case.
