Any members own or have experience with the Ruger LCR. Looks like a good BUG to carry. What I don't know is how well it handles with 38 +P ammo. Some snubbies are better than others. I'm thinking of purchasing one and carrying it in a pocket holster. My primary carry is a Glock 23. I don't fancy carrying a semi auto in my pocket lint and all that.

Haven't fired one but I took a look at the local gun store. I was expecting a little more weight to it when the salesdude handed it to me and I almost smacked myself in the eye. I believe it weighs in at 13 oz. unloaded. Very light.

handled one at the tampa show this weekend, ikt seemed alot more sturdy then what i was expecting... the polymer parts don't really seem any different then what you find on any of the small pocket guns today, although the contrast of all the parts together made me think of something the john conner would whip out and pop off at a terminator. lol

Uechi,

I'm not exactly computer savvy, but hopefully here is a link to previous LCP threads that you can peruse through at your leisure to learn more.

I have a LCP that I use when I can't conceal the 9mm. I carry it to church with me when I'm a bit more dressed up.

Somewhere in threadland I've mentioned my love/hate relationship with my little LCP. I did manage to break the trigger after about 10 trips to the range and sent it back to the manufacturer. It finally got returned many weeks later with all the recall repairs.

In retrospect, it is definitely a BUG. I got it intending on using it as my every day carry. Boy, that didn't last long. It was my first venture into guns and hindsight tells me I wanted a 9mm all along.

I use a little IWB when I do carry it. I'd rather have it than nothing.

I'm thinking you meant .380 ammo and not .38 but what do I know? The times I have shot it I did not have any FTF or jams or anything. If you run many rounds through it after a while you feel like it bites your finger. That may be that I'm now used to the easy pull of the 9mm trigger.

The problem I have now is finding ammo for the .380. I'm only carrying the LCP on Sunday and I'm not taking it to the range for any practice until ammo is more readily available.

All in all I am glad I own a smaller gun like this but I'm quickly turning into a 9mm girl.

Absolutely. I'm looking a the Ruger LCR which will handle 38 +P not the LCP which is a 380. For one 380 is, in my opinion,a joke caliber and also very hard to find. Obviously a lot of people like the round not me. For me it is better than a sling shot and that is about it.

Huh? I saw LC and BUG and my brain put it all together and translated it into LCP. I simply must get those bling granny glasses upgraded to the next level.

I spent time going through all those old threads so I wouldn't have to recreate my answer. I was on the wrong page all along.

Oh well, I'm at least trying to answer questions. If it *was* an LCP question my answer would have been spot on.

Sorry, Uechi. That was my most intelligent dumb answer so far.

MB, Uechi was talking about the LCR, not the LCP. :thumsup :D :drinks
Timbal, thank you for not hesitating to correct me. I would have never caught that. I appreciate it when someone has my back and keeps me walking in a straight line here. MamaBear is not above being corrected.

Not a problem at all! Watching out for everyone's back on this forum. :thumsup

That being said, I was eager to hear about the LCR myself. I've been thinking of a very small BUG for using with formal attire at church, but I don't think I'll be ready for a purchase until around the holidays. Still fun to do the research, though. :D

Here's a couple of LCR reviews, where a guy compares shooting various loads through the LCR and a couple of S&W wheelguns. The guns have various grips and weights, which affect perceived recoil and shooting comfort.
