I sent in my application on 7/8/08 and called today and I’m not even in the system yet. I sent a money order so can’t tell if they have cashed it. Here is the thing, my buddy sent his in a month later and called today and they said it should be issued in 7-10 days. Is this normal for this? I’m really confused since I sent mine in 4 weeks before. They said they were running 2 months behind but that doesn’t make since if his is already in the system and being processed. Should I be concerned and send out another app with a check this time? The wait is killing me!

There is no real rhyme or reason as to how long it will take to get your license. For some folks it can be a matter of a few weeks. For others, it might take several months.

I just recently received mine, last week as a matter of fact. I mailed my application on June 24th. It was received on the 27th. I started calling after about 4 weeks. Kept getting the "it hasn't been processed yet" message.

I called again last Friday, August 22nd. I was told that it had been processed on the 18th and that I "should have it in 7-10 days". Needless to say, when I got home last Friday, it was waiting for me in the mail.

All this is to say be a bit patient. My opinion is that it will probably take about 2 months. Mine was just a few days shy of 8 weeks.

Hang in there MAK. I would give them a call again tomorrow. Always get two opinions especially with government agencies. Anyway, welcome to the forum and good luck :thumsup.

Remember, the DoACS relies on other agencies for the criminal history check, and clearances don't necessarily come back in the order they were sent out.

Did you do hard card prints or Live Scan?

I sent my wife' and my paperwork at the same time... I got mine back less than a month later... My wife's? 4 month's...

Just have to be patient...
