OTF knives?

I have a few automatic OTF knives and although I've never carried them, I have been harrassed a by the local PD for having them in my vehicle

My CCW finally arrived today (yay me!!), but at a time when I can't really afford a new handgun (been spending way too much money on camera equipment)

Anyhoo, I was just wondering what the laws are on OTF knives and the like?

Are they legal to own, transport and carry?

Any limits on lengths or activation type?

I know I should've read up on this stuff during my wait, but decided to stay out of the weapons loop and concentrate on other hobbies to make the time pass faster
