Yesterday, I "officially" received my fathers day present. I have had it for a little while now, but my beloved wife officially authorized me to take full possession of it yesterday.

It is a nice little EMF Hartford 1892 in 357 magnum. I like lever actions and wanted something that would handle my large supply of 357 and 38spl ammo. It is a sweet shooting little gun and the price was right [the Winchesters, Marlins and Henrys were too pricey for something that I really didn't "need"].

I really like the two I own, Marlin 94 .44 mag and a sweet pre 64 Winchester 94 30-30

I didn't see this thread till this morning Mac, nice lever in a very efficient caliber sir.

I also own a 92 in 357 mag, stainless version, that's had some trigger, hammer an lever work done to it. The 92's are some of the strongest lever actions made, light and maneuverable, quick to shoulder and natural pointing.

You're right, it's the original American Assault rifle. Anyone who knows how to run one pretty well can make people take notice quickly :thumsup

Congrats on a very nice piece, nice gift you got there.
