I am thinking about getting a Cobra derringer 9mm from a guy I know. I was just hoping to get some feedback from some of you about this gun. If I get it I will be trading a New England Firearms single shot 20 gauge shotgun for it. I have not used the shotgun in years and figure I can use the space in my gunsafe. I think I paid $100.00 for the 20 ga. years ago and the Cobra sells for around $150.00 when new. What do you think?

Cobra derringers?

I wouldn't take one as a gift, let alone buy one.

Two shots which is a lack of ammo on board, both have to be fired after the hammer is cocked and you can't expect to be reloading it during a problem with any real efficiency.

You may not get the safety off or the gun cocked before you've been perforated with lead or a blade.

Reliability is fair if you can get the gun into operation.

I don't think I would carry it regularly but I thought it would be a little more useful than the shotgun that I can not think of a reason to take out of the safe.
