I went and got fingerprinted today at Sheriffs Dept, Got my passport photo at walgreen's, have a copy of DD-214, but i don't know which copy of DD-214 do i send, the short form or the long form. The short form does not say that i was honorably discharged, and the long form statestype of discharge, reason for discharge, and a bunch of other stuff, I am planning on sending the long form, am i right on this????? Also, what did everyone do with their little picture to keep it from getting lost in the envelope? I read where they said not to use a fastening device on the paperwork. I am afraid they will leave the picture in the envelope when they pull all the paperwork out.
So i guess tomorrow i will be getting the app. notarized, including my check, and getting it in the mail so i can get my permit before Obama gets in office and takes my right to carry away.:thumbsdwn
So what is the final tally on the amount of the check? $75 for the license and how much for the fingerprints? I did tell them i wanted livescan and she did scan on the computer, but she gave me a card also. They confused me to no end down there.

Thanks,

I photo copied the one with the discharge info on it and sent that in.

They've done 100's of thousands of apps. They know to make sure they take the photograph out of the envelope.

Don't bother using a money order, it doesn't seem to speed things up.

Now the rough part starts.

Also, however you send it (overnight or what have you), a few days after you've mailed it, you can call (850) 245-5691. The Dept. of Agriculture site says it can take 7 - 10 days for your application to reach the Div. of Licensing.

For myself, my main reason for calling was to just ensure they got my app and it was being processed. I called a couple of times after I got that information, but was just told it would take 90 days. Took about 80 for me.

The wait suuuuuuucks.
