While I am still considering all the great advice I have gotten for my conceal holster I would like to mention I do have a nice setup for open carry with my Colt 1911. I use a Blackhawk Sherpa and a heavy duty belt I stumbled on amazon:

The detachable mag pouches are cheesey but the belt itself is worth the small outlay.
