I know this isnt a forum tailored to PA but I post this in the hopes of making the process easier for anyone interested. Took me a bit of searching and calling so I figured I might as well save someone the effort if I already did it.

I am happy to report that I was able to apply for and receive my PA LTCF on the spot. Process took about 20 mins in total at the Bucks County Courthouse in Doylestown PA. No fingerprints were taken, just a 5 min call in to the state police. Cost was a grand $20 and the best part is they will send a renewal letter to my registered address 90 days prior to expiry to renew for $20 so I dont have to do it in person. Upon applying, you can pickup a pretty decent sized bound book on all the PA laws relating to firearm ownership- for free.

Their contact info is as follows:
Bucks County Courthouse, 55 E. Court, 1st floor, Doylestown.
Monday – Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
215-348-6136

Only issue I had(if you could even call it that) was the sheriffs deputy trying to talk me out of wasting my money on a PA LTCF as I already had a FL CWL. I told him Id rather be safe then sorry in the event reciprocity between the two states was to be challenged.

I was just up there visiting my parents. Carried the whole time with my FL CWFL. I did read the laws on each state I passed through. And yes, it's super easy to get your permit in PA. Just don't cross the southern boarder into Marxistland.

How easy it is, especially for non-residents, varies a bit from county to county. Bucks has a reputation for being easier than many of the others.

I have a non resident LTCF and I am former member of the PA firearm owner assoc website, my license is one of the old mailins from centre county, I am one of the last to get it without a pic and with the new style license format. when it expires I will physically have to go to a sheriffs dept, your lucky Buck used to refuse non res license issuance, most counties used to refuse. for the longest time most of us got ours through centre co, in fact I am leaving pa tomorrow for that long drive home.

During my convo with the sheriffs deputy while getting my LTCF, he informed me Centre may be reinstating the mail in program through a possible loop hole.
