Well here I am thinking that my permit should be in any day nor (mailed application out on Nov. 20) Got a letter in the mailed yesterday and was about to do a back flip when I noticed no permit was inside. I opened the letter to find out that the Dept. of Agriculture is requiring me to show proof of citizenship, because I was born abroad. AAAHHHH. Faxed in a copy of my passport and called them on the phone. They then informed me that I will be waiting at least another 45 days. If that is the case, it will take a total of 4 months. Has any one else had errors to fix and if so, did it delay your permit? Oh well I guess the wait is on again.....

Yep...they didn't like my electronic prints even with a letter from the sheriff saying they were the best attainable. Took 4 months for me too. Hang in it will soon be time for the Wally walk

USCIS has an online tool that lets employers, state, and local government verify citizenship. I wonder why DOA just couldn't use that.

I was also born abroad and didn't receive my citizenship until a few weeks before I applied in December. Let's see if they decide to delay my application, too.

Sorry to hear about the delay.

Just a clarification for those in our studio audience...You don't have to be a 'citizen' to obtain a CWFL, just a permanent, resident alien (aka: GreenCardHolder).

My finger print card was rejected the first time and I had to send a new set in. They initially told me it would delay the process by about 60 days but it turned out to be about 30.
