A bit of a "cross-post," but some folks might not see it in the other thread about a range day AAR.
From my trip to the range yesterday. This is the 100 yard range. It's really scary how many rifle owners think they need only bolt the scope to the rifle. They have never even heard of zeroing a scope.
Here's the view from the shooting line:
Think about how far off you have to be to hit the first baffle! Or any of them, for that matter.
You can even see GROUPS of holes in the baffles... indicating the shooter was fairly consistent in his POA, but he had NO IDEA where the impacts were. Yet, he kept shooting.
Here are some more photos I took when this range first opened. Here you can see the baffle strike "groups."
BTW, you can go to a pistol range and see the same frustrations with novices who slapped on optic on their pistol and don't understand why they aren't hitting the target.
