I went into my first road rage incident two nights ago coming home from work. I carry now so I have to be the responsible one....It was very hard for me to do but I did it. (the situation may not seem like one would get mad but I was off the hook mad.

I left work at night time to travel 11 miles on a two lane highway local road. I just pulled on this road to go home and two cars ahead of me where driving side by side going 40 mph purposely for 5 miles obviously blocking anyone FROM going the speed limit the speed limit which was 55mph and not letting anyone get around them. Oh boy where they having fun.

Sure I tailgated them for a second and if I didn't have the gun I was so angry that I thought of driving my car right inbetween them no matter if I damaged the cars. They were taunting me for sure.

Crap, I have my gun so I slowed down even more and they kept going even slower. I thought these two cars are blocking the road going the same speed and someone might come up behind me and do one of those insurance scam type of things if the car in the rear boxes me in and cause a fender bender.

I thought for a second that these two cars were having road rage with each other but as mile or two I see that they are friends and happily enjoying slowing us down even slower to make me and another car slow down to 35 mph in a 55mph....

I was furious they were toying with me by not letting me by so I could go home. So, I was furious then thought I need to be the one to back off and cool my jets.

I did to watch the other car pull up to the two cars blocking all traffic. She was a foot from their bumper, shining her lights on high beams....I was like damn she is crazy...Better her than me.

So at 11 miles I finally got to my chance to trun off and the two cars kept on the same pattern as they went by with other cars now trying to go the go speed limit.

I don't know it may sound like no big deal to some but having the gun actually made me more responsible. If I didn't carry I would have driven right between them.

So many times you got to let your ego go and it was hard to do but I felt better after the drive home cause with out a doubt I could have made the situation a lot worse.

Anyway, moral of this long boring story I kept out of trouble by knowing I was carrying. I felt bad for the other lady. SHe had some courage to pull what she did to these to cars......Just thought I would share...Sorry for long post.

P.S-I know this post has bad grammar. I was up late last night.

Good job on maintaing your composure. In that situation I would have called 911 and said there are two vehicles drag racing and given them the tag numbers...or I would have turned on my wig-wags. :D

Good "Level" headed response. So thats why your username has "level" in it? It is amazing how a 24oz piece of metal with several 180 grain projectiles strapped to us is connected to our brains. The responsibility and accountability is the heavy thing we carry.

I think about that also and hope the majority of us do also. That stuff sure can get to me though. Good job!

Nice job of keeping our cool and being on the lookout for someone pulling an insurance scam.

I think I would be on the phone with 911 though as they were creating a dangerous situation for other drivers,

Good job on the composure! I have had that several times and it seems like people actually like doing that! I have yet to figure out why, but they do. I have had them do it to me before on the motorcycle and wait till I get within 2 car lengths and SLAM on the brakes! Then then looked in the mirror and laughed! I cannot understand why someone would purposely want to harm another person for no real reason. I fell back and waited patiently for my gap. It opened up and I went for the pass and they decided to speed up and close it! I was getting more and more aggravated, so I fell back again. I waited again for the gap which came, I went for the pass and they sped up again! I just got off at the next offramp, went to the gas station, got a soda, and cooled down!

The old me wanted to back off about 10 car lengths, drop 2 gears, and go zooming by on the emergency lane @ 140MPH!

But I couldn't do it! I have a daughter and wife who need me!

I was the bigger man!:drinks

Someday........

Someday I wish the powers that be declare "no rules driving day". One hallowed day a year, ANYTHING GOES.... granny driving too slow, push her aside, dip shizzles like you mentioned?? NP, just back off and keel haul them from behind at 110mph. Always a good time to practice the Pitt maneuver.....

Of course by the second year we'd all be driving giant trucks with I-Beam bumpers, and .50cals mounted on the hood!:ak:dancingbanana
