I have two simple straight forward questions about night sights.

Do they really make a difference in a SD shooting situation and are they worth the $60-$100 price tag I see online? I am considering it for my Glock.

I saw this for $9.98 and thought about it for a minute. nitesiters

I had the nitesiters on my PT111 for a bit they dont glow for long but few mins under the light will charge em up for awile. I did get some tritium night sights to me was worth it if its dim lighting to dark i can see them. Now as for an SD shooting situation never been in one hope to never be in one.

Every gun I carry on the street has them, I don't carry a few I'd like to as they are not so equipped.

I find them worthy of the money. Better to have and not need than to have been able to make use of them once and not have.

I used to be skeptical about the usefulness of tritium sights...until I actually fired my gun during a night shoot. They really make a difference.

And before anyone says that if it's too dark to see your sights it's too dark to see your target, that's BS.

Good call sir. I've made good use of the N/S's on the streets and in low light training in some very low light where I couldn't make use of the sights but could see the threats if they wanted to play ball.:drinks

When we get this course off the ground in Fla, one of the things I'm going to extend to the members for free is a return after dark 2-3 hours session in near/total darkness using the N/S's and flashlight skills.

Brownie,

That was low. You just sweetened the pot. It's almost a crime what I'm thinking of doing to raise $$ to join in the shooting fun...I'm thinking of selling some school books. I can't believe I just typed that. What has this world come to?

Morning Mamabear,

Low, as in low light?:D

I have a fighting at night course that's run a few times out here, and thought a few hours extra curricula after dark would be something you folks in the fine state of Fla. might like to experience.

If we get the right venue, we should be able to pull this off.

Brownie, I'd already sent a pm regarding the Florida training on the other site. Hoping for dates to be settled so I can make plans. Night training just makes it even better. Mama Bear, sell those books! I'm thinking the more women who are willing to be trained well, the better. You should figure out a way to be there if you can.

boomana,

SwampRat on this site is trying to get this together with another gentleman from DefensiveCarry.com.

I just got in from a 3 day trip to New Mexico, just catching up on emails and forum news now. I'd check with the swamper for updated info on this potential class. Hopefully we can get this rolling in Fla.
