Just thought I'd check in. just got my CCW approx. 1 1/2 weeks ago, and could use some advise on the best way to carry my Ruger P 95. I'm 6'5 and weigh 290.
Thanks!
Welcome aboard, SouthSide. At your size, you should be able to carry concealed just about anywhere with a P95. Heck, you could probably even get away with an ankle rig. You might try simply going to a well stocked gun store and try on a couple of dozen different rigs and go for what seems most comfortable and accessable. Your and my physiques are no where near similar, so I really can't help with any specific suggestions, but you definetly have more options than we smaller brethren. I'm sure someone here with your approximate dimensions will pipe in with what works for them.

Welcome, SouthSide.

I would imagine that you are not dealing with any different issues carrying than any of us.

Go through the list of diagnostic questions and see if that can't narrow it down a bit.

Inside waistband - IWB
Outside waistband - OWB

Where are you going to carry? Mostly home or work?

Can you carry at work? or will this be for nights and weekends when you may be able to dress down a bit?

What is your clothes style? business or casual

Do you feel you want to carry on your side, cross draw, or ankle?

Go through the many holster threads we have going at any given time. Look at the pictures. Go to our Sponsor sites at the top of this page: AIG Tactical and Little Bear Holsters and spend some time looking at their stuff. You may not know what you want but going through photos can rule out what you know you don't want.

Don't buy something for looks, buy it for function.

Does this help?

Thanks Mama Bear,
It does help somewhat. For me I think IWB on my strong side is best, but I'm a Jeans & T-shirt kind of guy. Also I like to ride my motorcycle approx.50% of the time. Any other advise is greatly appreciated as I'm new to carrying and don't want any trouble!:drinks
