Thanks i'm impressed with the accuracy out of the box. Alot of people say that they are not that accurate but i beg to differ.

I had the Remington POS & just got a 10 22 a while back. i love it!! Bought a nylon stock off E-Bay for $20.00. Modifications are unlimited, but it's great out of the box. I bought a 30 round Hot Lips Clip & speed loader. Haven't gotten to try them yet.
You'll love the 10-22. Just about a perfect firearm.

One tip I got form the forums is to clean the barrel BEFORE you use it the first time. Seems they use a preservative that can affect accuracy if not cleaned out. I don't know how true that is, but cleaning certainly can't hurt it!

I had a 597 also!

Yeah I really loved my Remington 597. I had it for like 9 years never cleaned it...lol. After I cleaned it had all sorts of problems with it I just got rid of it. But I really like the Ruger 10/22's can't go wrong with those.

Thats funny, it was all the dirt that was holding it together :rolf

No metal trigger guard but I can live with that. I could always change it but that doean't concern me. I really like the finish, its better than I thought it would be.

I also have a 10/22 and love it. I have a Hogue over molded stock, Tactical Solutions threaded bull barrel and four 30 round magazines (also from Tactical Solutions). It is a great rifle and inexpensive to shoot. When I put my suppressor on it its quieter than my Benjamin .22 air rifle. Its a good gun and I`m sure you`ll enjoy it.:thumsup

I found a 10/22 Carbine model at Walmart yesterday for $197.00. I had to buy it to finish up my 22 rifle trio. It joins my Marlin model 60 and my Henry lever action, I think that's all the 22 rifles I need for now!

Range fun!

Sweet! nice buy, Sometimes i'll just shoot the .22 all day long. The best part is it only cost around $25.00 for shooting all day.:dancingbanana
