Hey everyone. Air force guy here been stationed here at Hurlburt Field, FL for the last 6 years. Long story short does anyone know where I can find a Star Model B's firing pin, firing pin spring, and firing pin retaining pin. I got it as a gift and the firing pin snapped. It is so old that the firing pin retaining pin had to be drilled out. I would love for this gun to be working again because it's a family heirloom. If someone could make all of it that would be awesome too. Please please please I am running out of options and it's a crying shame to just have it as a paper weight. :deadhorse

Welcome from Clay Co. FL., If net. fails to give results, I have found some rare and needed parts by going to a good ole local gunsmith and they at times will have stuff in those parts drawers from years past. Good luck!

That's the problem over here. You're lucky if you could find a gunsmith let alone a good ole one.

Special K, let me know what you find and what you don't. And don't throw out the old parts, or what's left of them.

You get a lot of that with Numerich Arms. They've been the "go to" for decades for the shooting population looking for parts on guns no longer produced. Doesn't surprise me they don't have it.

:thumsup
I hear ya, that's who I usually go to also, it sure beats buying kits and most of the time I buy a couple pieces just to throw one in my storage bins.:grin

Hi specialk.

Being retired Air force My self, and having been stationed at Eglin for two tours, I know there is several machine shops nearby that can replicate the pin.:grin Good luck.

Thanks guys for your help. Its 9mm and I will have to look at the gun later. Pretty sure its 60+ years old now. The problem is I have never seen a retaining pin or firing pin spring available. And because of that I can't justify buying the dang firing pin. I still have the old broken one... but not the whole piece. Spring and the tip disappeared in the grass. Any gunsmiths people actually use?

Check with Miles down the road at Trade winds gun and pawn and see if he can get you what you need. He's a great guy. There is Jimmys down the road in Ft. Walton as well. There is Ranger Firearms in Ft. Walton. Welcome to the neighborhood. I also live in Navarre, and work at Eglin. We recently got a new indoor range down the road by the zoo too. For a good "local" forum, come check this site out.
