After purchasing the Sig 1911 compact and the XD 40 subcompact in the last month, I figured I needed a 9 mm and a Glock so I purchased the Glock 19.

This is the G19 with the 15 round mag.

When I paid for the Glock, I told them I wanted a couple of 19 round mags with grip extensions to go with it and they said they would put them in the box. When I picked up the pistol, the mag you see in this photo is what was in the box. This is not what I was asking for. This looks like a 17 round mag with one of those +2 floor plates added. I really don't like the way this mag hangs out of the grip, and by no means is there a grip extension. I suppose it will work but does anyone have any thoughts on this matter? Does anyone actually sell what I'm looking for?

Congrats on the G19, just put the +2 baseplates on the factory 15rd. magazines.

19 round mags? The +2 baseplate [ part number 7151 ] would make a g19 mag capable of holding 17. Where you mentioned 19 rounds, they likely assumed you wanted a glock 17 mag with the baseplate, which appears to be what you were given.

To my knowledge there are no 19 rounds mags for the g19 in any configuration except the aftermarket Arredondo +4 extensions which would total 19 if placed on a g19 factory mag.

Thanks for the info, Brownie. I guess I was under the misguided conception that there was a 19 round mag for the G19. This configuration I've got does hold 19 rounds and I suppose if I ever have to slap in the spare mag, it should work since the mags for most of the 9 mm glocks are supposed to be interchangeable.

They work, I use them in some of the steel plate shoots, never a problem with these.

Very nice Jim :clap. I remember when mine looked nice and new like that but a little holster wear isn't too bad either. It's a nice shooting gun and you'll enjoy it. it might even become your main EDC.

As SSS said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. With that said, SwampRat, I think the Glock has a competitor that is a nose ahead on the ugly title. I think my XD40 subcompact looks like your worst nightmare of a junk yard dog eating scorpions and Vinegaroons. Egad, that thing looks mean!
