I couldn't stand it. I called again today. At least I'm in the system again. I was told that my prints are still illegible and are now in the process of being reviewed by a supervisor. As gently as I could I tried to press for a date but was told there is no way of her knowing where in the pile of "those being reviewed by a supervisor" I was. I could be at the top or I could be at the bottom. She repeated several times that I was being reviewed by a supervisor.

Never would I have guessed that my prints would give me so much trouble. I told her that the Sheriff's office included a letter that it was the best prints they could obtain and she did say that would help.

Once this supervisor reviews my prints I could be denied or it would be issued. I tried to press for a date but she would not commit to anything.

So all of this to say no news but at least I'm back in the system again.

MammaBear, we're all waiting in anticipation. You'll have to tell us what kind of coffee drink that is you like once you get your license so we can all go out and have coffee in your honor.

No news sometimes is good news. I think you will be fine. Sounds like you worked your prints right off your fingers.

Thank you everyone.

I did paper prints before we knew the rush to get a license would be in full swing. It does appear I'm slogging my way through the system though. I suppose that if this woman approves my pathetic prints then it will take a few more weeks after that to print up the license.

As far as coffee I'm a tremendous Barnie's fan. There are still a few around Orlando so I'm set. I do NOT like that Fivebucks place. I prefer flavored coffee as opposed to that syrup-milky junk. Barnie's brewed flavored Creme Brule mixed with Classic Caramel will do just fine. Of course, if you need that man stuff you can just order up a good 'ole cup of joe and call it a celebration anyway.

When I know something you will know something.

MamaBear, who after being a stay at home mom probably has worked her fingerprints right off

Just a suggestion if it will hurry it along ask that lady if you did electronic prints would it help they are done digitally and capture all aspects of your prints don't know if you may want to try that Orange County Sherrifs Dept Does it.

I need to get fingerprinted. How do I do it?

You can get fingerprinted at the following location:

Mamabear,

The prints might be being reviewed by the state of Fla, but I'm pretty sure they get sent to the feds too.

The feds sent my wife a letter AFTER here permit had been issued a month previously by the state of Az. They weren't good enough and she had to have them retaken and sent to the fed within 10 days or lose here permit.

All this to say, it may not be up to the state ultimately. Just an FYI

I will jump through whatever hoops they put in front of me. I want that license. Thanks for the heads up though. Who knows what is really going on up there.

After all of this I'm pretty sure I'll have a red flag on my file but as long as I have my license they can color code my file any way they want to.

It might be a good idea to go get them done electronic that should expidite it they can't argue with electronic prints and also shows you made an extra effort to comply i know you made the effort but in thier minds.

When I had to do my prints over I checked into having them redone electronically(originally paper) I was informed that it would be an additional $35.00 To the state and it would start over again. It was also 2 weeks to get into the sheriffs dept here in fort lauderdale to get them done as they only do them on fridays by appointment only. Went back to the paper and it was only 3 weeks later that I got it.From what im hearing, electronic prints right now are not any faster, especially if you are changing in the middle of the reviewing process.

Hang in there mamabear, I feel like we are all waiting all over again right along with you. It will be a big sigh of relief when you finally get your license. You now have me actually looking forward to your posts just to see how your doing. Sure hope its soon, I cant take much more of this.....:rolf

When I went back for the second set of prints the lady told me that I needed to do the paper again since that is what I did the first time. Also, Tallahassee sent another fingerprint paper implying that is what I should do.

They cashed my check July 25 so counting up from there today marks day 97 that I've been waiting. Of course, that includes the re-start of when they received my second set of prints on October 10 but it makes it much more painful to start counting from the original date and not the second date. :)

For those bothering to follow this saga you've gotten a glimpse of what labor pains are like. Although I wouldn't know that as I delivered one child 15 days early in less than 3 hours and the second child was 21 days early and I delivered him in less than 2 hours. I have no idea what labor or labor pains are like so this is my pay back since I breezed through 'real' labor with my children. I have to say I'd much rather birth a child than wait for a concealed license.

Thanks for being my support. It's not like I discuss this with my girl friends or anything.
