Greetings all
I followed the .380 thread. Great thread. I also know that right now you can buy a box of .380 (one box only per customer please) range ammo for the low low price of $30 a box. My .45 range ammo is $18 a box. What is going on with that! Anyway, I have several buddies with .380s, as well as my mom. My Mom has the full stainless Sig 232. She likes it. I have a buddy who has Bersa's. He has the small DA/SA and he bought he wife the Concealed Carry. He loves his guns. I have another buddy with a Kel-Tec P3AT. He loves his. My EDC is a Springfield XD 45. I bought the P3AT today. I paid $289 for the blued gun with one magazine (St. Nicholas, Jax.). It's in my pocket now. It is SO LIGHT AND SMALL. I can't wait to shoot it...Wednesday!
Now to find ammo that's not twice as expensive as my .45 ammo.
I will call Dave (Little Bear Holsters) for a pocket holster when I finish typing!:thumsup

Love the .380 too

Yep, I am a fan. I carry a super accurate, super reliable Hi-point 380 in the back of the seat passenger pocket of my X-90, loaded with a special custom made hot load with lead inserts in the JHP. Never plan to shoot it at 50 yards on the range, so it works for me. My "Pocket-Carry" is a Taurus 85B UltraLite, 5 shot revolver loaded with 38SP+P JHP's, so I feel my away from home arsenal is very complete.

I, unlike others, have no problem with the short 9mm as a defensive weapon, as I seriously doubt I will be more than a few feet from any antagonistic individual, and if I can't stop him with my 10 rounds, I really shouldn't be carrying a weapon anyway.

So, I never think of the 380 as a mouse-gun....better than no gun at all and a lot lighter than my 40 or 45.

IMHO as always. Every one has a right to my opinion :D

I got the Kel-Tec P-11 for a pocket gun. True, it's not quite as small as the .380, but I wanted something no smaller than 9mm. My only disappointment is that you need both hands to pull that DAO trigger (around 9 lbs.), but that also means that no safeties are necessary.

I thought long and hard about the Kel-Tec P11. It is only slightly larger, has more power and there is plenty of 9 mm ammo. Sadly, Shooters is now selling your gun on sale two days after I bought mine. Their price...$250. Still delighted with the little gun. Can't wait to get my new pocket holster from Dave (LBCH) this Friday. Dave is using Horse hide and is building a magazine sheath attached to the holster. Can't wait!:dancingbanana
