I’ll take it.

Me, too. Would be a nice matched set with my Shockwave. Dr. Evil and Mini-me!

Looks like the 590 has a longer magazine, as well. What is the capacity?
My Mossberg 590 A1 Persuader has a longer magazine tube giving it an 8+1 capacity with 2 3/4 shot shells. It also has a heat shield and a bayonet lug making it look sort of like a Winchester 1897 (M97) Trench Gun. Would be cool to get an M1917 bayonet for it but. . . 🤠

You must have missed this thread, where I posted a photo.
Well, since I commented on that thread, I didn't miss it. But I DID forget it! LOL!

I'm copy-pasting it here for reference! Nice looking shotgun.

5+1... 8+1????

My Mossberg 940 JM Pro is 9+1(with std 2.75" shells).

 :ROFLMAO:
That looks sweet! Just looked it up... a competition gun. 24-inch barrel - not really designed for defense, eh? But, I'm sure it could serve as such.

Yeah, I would not use it for SD. That would be my Shockwave, if anything. I would use it for clay practice and if I ever went hunting.

'Matter of fact, Miculek uses and sells a speed loader" for it.

Yup, the 24 in.barrel allows a longer mag tube to accommodate 9+1 capacity, which is nice for a competician gun, but having a barrel 4 in. shorter, I like the 590A1 Persuader for HD much better. YMMV 🤠

My 20" Ithaca 37 featherweight in 12 Ga. Slam fire capable made approximately 1980. I've owned it since 1981 NIB.

First shot gun I hog hunted with was a borrowed Ithaca that would slam fire. Wasn’t there a Winchester that would do that also?
Model 12, I believe. I had one..smooth as silk

If memory serves, that was discussed on here a while back as Winchester 1897 (M97) and Model 12 shotguns were slam-fire capable, but perhaps there were others.

That's a great HD gun! (y)(y)
Or LE use. I recall the first time I saw Jack Webb use one to apprehend a BG in Dragnet. Because the BG was known to possess a sawed-off shotgun and to sleep with it undercover in bed, they felt it appropriate to match arms. So they checked out a 12G Ithaca and then 5 rounds of 12G magnum load, 00-Buck.

The Result:

I took that same shotgun class with Bob and realized I really wanted a new 12ga after using my 30+ yr old Mossberg 500 Persuader. She's a beauty with her real wood and clean looks but DAMN, it's heavy compared to many of the shotties these days. Now I'm wanting to get a new, lighter one for HD and just preserve the old gal.
