Ruger offered them in the early 90s. I had a 10/22 with a stock very similar. I think I could have driven concrete nails with that thing.

Mine is from Clark Custom Guns.
True, but considering that Ruger factory 20 and 30 rounders are the best (and until recently were scarcely available to the public), they aren't too outrageous.

i'm a recent convert to rifles with an original series mini 14 (1975) and a mini 30...i cant say enough good things about em and the research ive done indicates a big following...heres my impression...

Anyone that has taken a Tact Carbine / pistol course from T.E.S, will know that I LOVE the mini platform. I have a tricked out 14 and a a 30 .

having owned an older one like bnb's and sold it because i needed money, i had to cure the itch so i bought a newer model. the older style the scope mounts seemed to be problematic for loosening up . the shells eject nearly straight up from those. the newer ranch models have scope rings that come with them . the shells eject more to the side. other than that , they function identically. yes the mags cost more than an ar and you have to get used to how the mags get inserted front first (because of the pin). fun weapon!

I'm a big fan of the Garand action. I have the tactical model with ATI stock, vertical fore grip and red dot sight. 2 MOA is plenty accurate for these old eyes and it's just plain fun to shoot.

Which model did you pick up?
I got the tactical, folding stock, 16 inch barrel, flash suppressor, pistol grip and it has picatinny rails on top
