I have been trying to find an answer to this question for awhile and have had no luck because of conflicting answers. I am originally a Pennsylvania resident where I received a conceal carry permit. Since then, I have moved to Florida on military orders and while down here changed my residency to Florida (for tax reasons, not that it matters). My question is, since I am active duty military is my Pennsylvania conceal carry still valid or has it become null and void since I have changed my residency to that of Florida? I spoke to a Escambia Country sheriff who said as long as I have my military ID I should be good, however I'm not going to just go off of this one guy's word. Thanks.

I cannot say whether your PA permit is or is not valid, you'll need to contact PA for that answer, but I would guess that you are obliged to tell PA that you've changed your legal address.
that said, why don't you just get a CWFL and then there would be no questions.

PM NavJag06 on this forum. He is military and an attorney. He will be happy to set you straight.

In my time, I never had to obtain new licenses where I was stationed, regardless of my 'residency' . Things may have changed, but I believe you are fine for the length of your service.

Welcome to Florida, and Thanks for your service!

Re: the bolded -

I suspect you need to be careful to keep your PA carry permit current and active (?)

did you ever change your legal residence while on station? his becoming a legal FLA resident is what generated my comment, if he would have remained a PA resident his permit status wouldn't be a question but since he declared FLA as his domicile state he might be obligated to inform PA on his change of residence and get a fla permit

Once you change residency, you will need to seek a new permit. Military, you might be able to haggle around the subject with a military ID, and a copy of your orders. But... since your changed your tax info, you technically are now a Floridian!
