I know there's not that many people around here that would actually go to the Melbourne gun show, but the trends might be interesting.
First off, the crowd was down. The first one I went to was April 3. That was the most crowded I have ever seen the auditorium - and I've been in Melbourne 27 years. They actually shut down admissions because the place was full. This time, we went at noon and got a place in the closest parking area. 3 cars were leaving and 2 of us were waiting for spaces.
Second off, lots and lots of ammo. Prices seemed 20% or so higher than the April show. Maybe more? I remember buying a bag of FMJ reloads from Space Coast bullets for $24 or so (.40 S&W). They were $30 yesterday. There were also boxes of primers on several tables, and powders for reloading.
Gun prices were higher, too. Everyone was selling KelTec P3ATs for like $350. I'm pretty sure my local shops have it for around $280. The only things that seem to have come down a little are rifles. One dealer had a special on Olympic Arms AR-15s for $699. They also had a sign up that said, "inventory reduction sale - ask about any price". I saw many rifles that seemed reasonably priced.
The only things I ended up getting were a few accessories for my AR-15. I put a four-sided accessory rail on it, in place of the tapered plastic hand guards. "Barbies for Men" as they say.
