After considering all the options and deals available I finally settled on this Century Arms . Yeah I know it's not the top of the line but it will have to do. I'm on a budget. You never know when you'll run into zombies outside your front gate.

I purchased it at Gander Mountain and I literally had to hold on to and stand by this weapon until they unlocked it and gave it to me. They only had a few AR's left and many people wanted one. .223 ammo was also flying off the shelf. I saw people with shopping carts full of ammo. Anyway here it is.

Nice.

I'm going to have get one myself real soon. Like before January.

Anybody have any recommendations for something really cheap but wont blow up in my hands and can at least hit the broad side of the barn?

Congratulations NK! I see you went with the traditional configuration. Very nice!
Now you can focus on magazines, ammo, cleaning supplies and tools, etc. It sure is fun!

Are you familiar with field stripping your weapon? If not I might be able to find some videos that might be helpful.

Use and enjoy it in good health!

Ron I have zero experience with the AR. I have been doing a lot of research and reading many posts on AR15.com. So I'm starting from scratch with this firearm but it will be fun learning and shooting as I go.

It might be a bit overwhelming at first, but I assure you field stripping that rifle gets pretty easy after you do it a few times. Here are some helpful videos.

Here is another. She has a bit of a squeaky voice, but aside from the dim lighting, it is pretty decent to watch and learn.

Nice, I bought the same exact AR a couple of weeks ago for the same reasons. The price was reasonable and I like the standard configuration, it reminds me of the M-16 I carried a long time ago. I also bought some high capacity magazines from Bud's Gun Shop for a decent price. Have you had a chance to shoot it yet? Let us know how it went if you have, I haven't gotten mine to the range yet.

Check out this thread http://floridaconcealedcarry.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=899&highlight=west+palm+beach. I did a few mods to it and it's awesome to shoot.

Thanks for the range report. The mods look great, I'm glad to hear it shoots well. I can't wait to get mine to the range, hopefully next week.

The more I researched this rifle I realized it was a good buy. It looks like at the least the upper is make from all Colt parts.

That is real nice, but I like my short 12Ga. pump with 00 buck.

May get a little messy, but, at night nothing better. Just aim in the general area.

I agonized over getting the shotgun or the AR and then the election happened :rolf. When I regenerate some funds I'll try to get a Mossberg.

My Mini sits next to a Mossberg 500 at my house! Just the sound of racking that gun will send a BG on a dead run!:drinks

SuperTrkrE2812,

Thanks for the thoughts on that fs2000. It's the first bullpup I've tried that I actually could shoulder and be right on the money without fiddling with the position. Very good ergos

The ps90 is a sweet little piece as well.
