Moylan,

I contacted Dave at Littlebear and he made a double mag sheath for me. I have an M&P 40c. I also have a safariland paddle sheath. I rotate through both of them on different days.

Mags

I am gonna get crap for this but I carry:

Garrett Industry kydex
Blade Tech
Don Hume Paddle

The reason is my screwed up shoulder... I need it to be as "slick" as possible so I don't over rotate or pull my shoulder.

For price point, check out Brownells... they have ALOT of good kydex gear, if that is what you are after, and bigger name leather makers (Mitch Rosen, Galco, DH, etc) at an affordable price. Plus, you can see it is or isn't instock, right there....

I know we are to conceal our carry weapons.

But what about magazine holders? OK to carry them in plain view? Doesn't that just alert everyone to the presence of a concealed weapon?

I'm curious as all I do at the moment is carry a mag in my back pocket. Don't like that option but I'm not sure what other way would work best.

I asked this question in my CWP Class @ Shooter's

answer: same rules for a gun apply to a mag. cover it up

...plain sight

I have made a few customers "Buck knife" cases.

They kinda look like the old BUCK cases for those folders I grew up loving.
I was even a wise guy and stamped the guys name to look like the BUCK logo.
I have other customers who use nylon "Leatherman" cases to carry their mags...
Another I have done, for a Stryker BDE guy was like the old EMT leather cases you can buy on Ebay and at medical supply.
It could hold/hide the mag in the "knife" case, has a spot for a flashlight... I didn't get highspeed and make the spot for scissors or other gear but it was close enough for gov't work.

I also took my old BladeTech single mag pouch and covered it in leather to match my belt. I lift my shirt and it looks like part of my belt. I use their "quick lock" system... or whatever it is called.

If you want to save money... go to Tandy Leather and they have the buck knife sheaths you can finish yourself. All you need is the dye, which you don't need much. It comes w/ everything else you need.
I do like the idea because it is hiding your mag in plain sight.

Cheers!
